Marcie thank you so much for being on this call today I know that a lot of people know you from the chicken soup of the soul series and also from the hit movie The Secret right yeah I think probably more recently from happy for no reason and love for no reason perhaps yeah and I have those books and they’re fabulous and you’ve been a public speaker for a very long time but you also are doing teleseminars and tell a series and Telus summits and one year mentorship programs and courses online from the comfort of your own home can you talk about why you do that oh my very favorite thing to do this year I launched with my business partner different ottoman an amazing program called your year of miracles and it’s a year-long mentoring program that we ended up having 1800 people from 38 countries and I I travel a lot i’m still doing speaking engagements all over the world and so this year I’ve been able to deliver this program from Russia from India from China from wherever I am and it’s so amazing to be able to to connect with people from all over the world so it used to be that I get I give us speaking I give a speech and you know maybe there were a hundred people in the audience maybe a thousand I’ve done as much as 10,000 people but now they don’t have to all be in the same place they can be all over the world and it’s just fabulous it’s convenient for me it’s convenient for them we are able to have guests on and it’s just I’m thrilled at the technology that allows me to use the teleseminars and and online seminars in ways that just weren’t available even 10 years ago so people can call in by phone or even use the computer correct absolutely so people well there’s really three ways they can call in by phone line they can use the computer live and we do have questions and answers so they can either raise their hand and ask a question or they can type in your question via the web or many people listen to the Downloads afterwards it for some reason I’ll call isn’t it a convenient time for them so there’s much flexibility on the part of the participants in how they want to access the program and they can of course listen to it multiple times so it’s fabulous that’s just really amazing marshy so let me ask you this this is a one-year mentorship program or a one-year course an online course that you are delivering either by computer or by phone however people want to tune in from those 1,800 people like did you have a free preview call we did actually set people to call call the three secrets to living a miraculous life and it was a it’s a very very content rich call it’s really all about I we really gave them the three keys the three secret to living a miraculous life and at the end we offered them the opportunity to do this one your mentoring program with us and we have amazing conversions and you know my experience with this is the more great content that you can give to people on a freeview seminar the better off you are some people say oh no I have to save all my good stuff for the actual course you know be generous give your best give really good content because people want to connect with you they want to they want to see what value you’re about and so that always been like the losophy is to really give value in every way I totally I totally agree do you remember the numbers the convergence or how many people you actually have to have on the preview call in order to get your 1800 to sign up well we ended up having about 36,000 people sign up for the preview call and we think about fifty percent of those people actually listened to either the live calls or the recordings and we had amazing ten percent conversion rate from that so we had 36,000 people signed up we had probably 18,000 people who listened and probably ten ten percent of that 1800 people signed up right wow that is really amazing and the one-year course I’m how much did they have to pay for that this is another periods of five hundred and ninety seven dollars so kind of a no-brainer and we gave we’re just towards the end of this one-year program it was 2014 your urine miracles and we are just now launching of 2015 program and we expect that we’ll have probably 3,000 people this year because we it was such a you know that’s the other thing is how the importance of giving a really great value to people yeah I mean so so people basically from this year or gonna are going to move on into the next year and continuing the mentorship but you’re also going to do another preview call to get more people into the next year yeah I heard you do we imagine that many people are going to renew and do it again they’re loving it so much and they truly are having miracles happen you know we called it your year of miracles and they are having miracle so it’s fantastic and then we’re also doing another series of creepy calls and inviting in these people this year you know what people are going to ask when they hear these numbers they’re going to say how in the world did you guys that many people on to a preview call like what’s the secret to this I mean I know that you are very well known in the United States and probably across the planet but that helps one but there’s got to be some other secrets to it it doesn’t happen overnight no you know i have i have my own very very substantial email list and i have affiliates that i’ve been working with for years and years and years these are relationships that I’ve had for years and so it’s really a the affiliate situation is a wonderful situation because it’s it’s both people win you know we pay our affiliates a wonderful forty percent and they love it because they’re people convert and we were able to convert their people and and and they’re getting great feedback of the people that they’ve sent to our programs so that’s important to us but it’s to me if this is a relationship business and not only do you need to build your own platform and your own email list but you need to build relationships with other people who are doing similar things and who can you can support each other and that as far as I’m concerned is the most important thing that we can do in this business is build relationships I totally agree one hundred percent not only with affiliates and joint ventures but also with the clients because they really stick with you you know for life if you have one if I could ask you one last question it would be this somebody starting out brand new with teleseminars and just wanting to launch on this path what would you tell them is the most important thing for them to know and keep going I can’t tell you when I can tell you free though is that alright absolutely I would love it okay number one you must pick a topic that you love that’s it really is important to you that you passionate about and brand yourself in a way that it’s different from everybody else and I’ll give you an example when i finished the Chicken Soup for the Soul books I that I needed to find what my next thing was and I did some deep soul-searching and I realized just while I had a lot of success the thing that I didn’t have was deep happiness and I decided that I was going to Beth what I wanted to build my business around I wanted to find out what I could do to be happier and then share that with everybody else and so that’s why I ended up writing happy reason and had ad telethon that’s been around when I started that project I probably would have started with the telus summit where I was interviewing every expert there is happiness so you’ve got to find what things to you you may already be an expert in the subject or you may not be an expert in subject as I wasn’t but you wanted come one so that’s number one number to distinguish yourself find an angle that makes you different from everybody else so I was studying I was in the area of happiness wealth happiness is you know kind of big everybody’s in the happiness field there weren’t as many people when I started about years ago but um so I found an angle which was happy for no reason it’s it’s all about how to be happy despite your circumstances yeah it you know how to be happy no matter what and came up with a brand happy for no reason so I think it’s important to come up with a brand that’s distinguishable from of everybody else and then the third thing which we’ve already mentioned is build relationships with everybody you know follow the other people in your arena so I’m friends with a lot of people in the happiness arena but also friends with the people who are not hundred percent in your arena but but related so for example one of my favorite affiliates is the passion test Janet Attwood and Chris app would certainly finding and living your passion is an important part of happiness so we’ve formed this wonderful they call it enlightened Alliance they actually have a company called enlightened alliances where I support all of their passion passion test programs and they support all of my happy for no reason programs so really find your alliances out there has and be giving be generous be open-hearted which you are and you’re demonstrating this by doing this call for everybody today who is really interested in getting started with working from anywhere on the planet so Marci where can people find you and by the way for those of you that have
