hi guys what’s up my name’s Ali and I’m at my warehouse space right now and um I wanted to make a video today telling you guys exactly how to start your own online store I started my own online store with no money and now I’ve been able to grow it into an actual brick-and-mortar boutique in the town that I live in I’m going to be opening a second location in a month in a different city and I have this online store um I’m going to tell you guys exactly how to start your own online store and I’m just going to sit down right here I’m just going to operate into I wish so badly that somebody would have done a video like this when I started my online store so let’s get right into it first thing you’re going to do is you’re gonna pick a business name you need to pick something that’s catchy easy to remember and easy to spell number two you’re going to get a domain you’re going to do this by going to GoDaddy calm you’re going to type in whatever you want your business or a boutique name to be in the search bar and then it’ll tell you if it’s available if it’s available it’ll tell you how much it’s going to cost so once you have your domain name you’re going to apply for an EIN in ein is an employer identification number and this is a tax ID number that the government uses to categorize your business and tax you and you will be able to do this on iOS gov I’ll link all of these things below in the description box just make it super easy for you number four you’re going to apply for a resale permit aka wholesale license aka a seller’s permit number five you’re going to file for a fictitious business name you’re going to do this through your local newspaper once you do that you’re going to open up your own bank account so in order to open up a bank account they’re gonna ask to see two things they’re going to ask to see your EIN number and they’re going to ask to see that your name was fictitiously filed once you do that the town that you live in or city will give you proof that you have filed that and you’re going to bring that paper to the bank with you so next you’re going to figure out how you’re going to build your online store I think Shopify com is the best way to build your own website that’s what I did mine through it’s super easy to use my website is shop Nomad boutique calm I think my website looks great go check it out if you like how it looks you can you know build a similar one on Shopify comm and um yeah it’s super easy to use you can customize things and switch things around with no graphic design experience needed um you don’t need to know how to do code or anything it’s just super user friendly and and so I think Shopify is a great option there’s Squarespace and then you know if you go on google and type in website builders I’m sure there’s a million other websites but Shopify or Squarespace are the two that I would recommend and then after you have your website built you’re going to want to buy wholesale clothes I will tell you how to find wholesale clothes but I’m not going to tell you which brands that I use because that’s my secret sauce and I can’t be telling everybody that so if you type in fashion trade shows there should be a bunch that are going on right now they happen every season in major cities and it’s definitely worth making a trip out to it’s like hundreds to thousands of vendors that set up their little showrooms and it’s like huge event centers and you make a whole day out of it or like three days out of it you go around to each little booth check out the clothing that they have you like their brand you show them your information you exchange information you could place orders there you can have it shipped to you so once you have your website built and you got all of your clothing you’re going to want to take pictures of your clothing I definitely recommend buying a good camera or maybe a nice iPhone until you can get yourself a good camera it’s really expensive to hire photographers and I feel like if you’re able to start your own online store you’re probably able to figure out how to work a decent camera so once you shoot your photos for all of your wholesale clothing and you get them up online it’s time to start marketing two best ways to market your online store Facebook and Instagram they’re both free and you can’t go wrong and yeah that’s pretty much it um I wish you guys all the success with starting your online business hope you’re able to quit your day jobs and begin doing what you love and I hope that you guys like this video please subscribe if you’re not already and I’ll talk to you guys next time bye
