hey my name is brandon cox and I’ve been blogging for about 12 years at Brandon a coxcomb and then I’ve spun off a lot of other blogs I’ve sold some blogs that have some blogs on the side I managed some some websites that are that are really good amazing website and all of that flowed out of just taking an interest in blogging about a decade ago I earned my first dollar online I wrote something and in the middle what i wrote i linked to a book on amazon.com and i happen to be happy to have just signed up for the Amazon Associates Program so someone click that link bought the book and Amazon gave me like 54 cents for selling a book for them so I got to help someone out with value a valuable book and Amazon paid me for selling that for them that’s affiliate marketing from their blogging count a little bit further for me and I got to do quite a bit developing websites and whatnot it turned into me doing that for other people building websites building online businesses and so forth designing things creating things and built a what what I think was a pretty successful freelance design business I later closed that and phased that out so I could focus on some other things and in the last five or six years I’ve gotten to plant a church which is huge to me I mean it’s just the calling of my life that the passion of my life is but planting this church and so that’s big but it’s been fun to start something from nothing from zero and now to have you know 500 people connected to us that’s been a lot of fun I get to coach other leaders I take quite a few guys on a monthly basis and just do video calls with them and coach them through things I get to consult with organizations and I’m still blogging and and all of that develops all of that is happening because I started blogging you know it was like a chain chain of events that blogging led to earning that dollar led to me doing a little bit more business led to me getting connected with the person who hired me to do this that and the other and Here I am today still doing all of that here is the lesson in that I am normal or average or whatever you want to call it i’m not some kind of rock star and so therefore i really believe you can do this too now you got to give it time and you got to start somewhere but you can do this too it is entirely possible for you to start a blog and start online business I meet people every day you have amazing ideas an amazing content to share if they just would dive in and start writing and start publishing and start sharing so I want to challenge you to do that here is the problem I think that you may have run into you don’t know where to start you’re not sure what to do next to make it work in fact you could have even perhaps spent money before trying to start investing in you know some kind of program or some kind of software guaranteed to make you rich overnight or something and it lets you frustrated and kind of lost in the shuffle and not sure what to do next and I completely understand a lot of things out there that over-promised and under-delivered and people I’m sure making plenty of money doing that but I want to sort of cash to you a different different idea see the problem is that when most of us want to do something like that we want to start a blog start a business online we’re not sure where we do one of two things we either whine about our circumstances and just talk about how frustrating life is and we can’t do anything about it or we have wishful thinking but we never take action we never put one foot in front of the other and just initiate something so I want to challenge you out of both of those things and encourage you instead to do one simple thing educate yourself just just educate yourself warren buffett made famous the saying that the more you learn the more you earn meaning the more you educate yourself about how things work and how to do things the more likely you are to succeed at those things and perhaps even earn you know a sizable or comfortable income from those things so you’re creating work for yourself by educating yourself now where do you do that how do you do that there are lots of options on the internet there are all kinds of programs to discover I’m just telling you one of my favorite sources of learning about that is what is called the wealthy affiliate community now I’m not a huge fan of the name for me wealth is not the goal influence is the goal and if wealth gets you influenced that’s great but you know for me we’re going to die someday and our money isn’t going to mean anything then so I’m not really interested in you know getting filthy rich and having sports cars and you know retiring at age 30 or something i’m 39 anyways but you get the picture that’s not what I’m interested in instead I wanted to find a community where I could learn the basics of blogging and setting up websites and affiliate marketing and earning an income online and how to do it better and how to scale it and how to just kind of build a business and be an entreprenuer and all of that sin my blood anyways and so wealthy affiliate helps me it helps me in three particular ways I want to
