hey guys Justin Bryan here from self-made success.com and in this video I’m going to show you five affiliate marketing business ideas and examples of them Plus where to start to set them up so this is for 2017 these are up-to-date ways to do things these are businesses that are proven to be successful now I’m going to show you examples and methods for doing them so the first one is a gift ideas website and this is a great way to go if you just want to do a little bit of work everyday and come up with some great affiliate products usually you want to use something like Amazon for this if you want to become an Amazon affiliate all you have to do is go to affiliate – program dot amazon.com or you can just woke up Amazon Associates as you can see here Amazon Associates allows you to become an affiliate make up to 10% commissions so once you are an affiliate of Amazon you will notice that you have this gray bar up here so I’m drawing a line on this gray bar you can see it it’s up here it has a Twitter option Facebook option for sharing your links you can do text books image image and then text so what you’re going to do you’re going to go to a product of course and if you’re going to use Amazon for this you want to click text and then copy this link right here and that is where you will put your affiliate link in different places and I’ll show you some different ways to do that but you can do that with Amazon of course you get affiliate products to promote through Clickbank those are two of the main ones I recommend you start with and if you want to you know find different stuff to promote you can go up here to affiliate marketplace go to which say you want to do arts and entertainment you can promote the top-performing ones it tells you how much money on average per sale it’ll tell you the commission all of that stuff you can see the sales page you want to look at the sales page make sure it’s something that you would even be interested in buying that means it’s probably a pretty good sales page but as far as a gift ideas website this is an example here it’s called this is why I’m broke com so you can see here there’s all these different products and you can tell that there’s all kinds of things on here from you know funny gag gifts or gifts that are just really cool or stuff that’s futuristic or stuff that has to do with productivity or survival stuff there’s all kinds of things that you can find on here so what you do you create these blog posts basically by setting up a wordpress site or a Wix you can build your own site on Wix or Weebly or something like that and then you can do an image or a video of the product let’s say you want to do a treadmill desk and get commissions off of it so let’s say you do the treadmill desk you can see here there’s an image of it to show you what it looks like there’s a little description here usually two sentences long that describes what it does you can get that from Amazon if it’s an Amazon product which it is and you have the price obviously they need to know that and then a button or a link you can just insert a link I already showed you how to get your link through Amazon by clicking text up above the product so you can go to the product page and if it was this book here you just click text and then get that link up there like I showed you earlier so then you could go to the check it out page and it will show you the product usually that link right there would be a link to an affiliate product so they are affiliates of Amazon which means they are signed in here at Amazon Associates you just click login up here you’ll know if you’re signed in by knowing that this gray bar is up here you get the link you create these little blog posts like this and have a place in big bold letters a button or a link that goes to the affiliate page and if they buy it you get let’s say you get 10% you get like 50 bucks off approaches like this so if you start getting good traffic like this is why I’m broke does by just making all these different gift ideas and stuff like that then you always have stuff to put on here you just put different types of gifts maybe you have niche sites maybe you have small sites like a Christmas gift site or like Valentine’s Day gift site a woman’s gift idea site or you can put them all in one like they did but you can get all kinds of ideas of just doing a gift ideas website like this and it’s great for affiliate marketing all they do is they post like maybe five or six new products a day so that probably requires very little work if you want to set up your own website with WordPress you’re going to need to follow some sort of tutorial unless you hire somebody to do it for you so I recommend this one I put it together because a lot of people want to start a blog how to start a wordpress blog and three steps with Bluehost this will cost you like four dollars a month that only go to the domain and all that stuff when you get started and I mean that’s about as simple as you can get now if you want to do something that’s more of a website builder that doesn’t have as many options that’s a little simpler than WordPress doesn’t have as much customization or anything you might do Wix or Weebly those are website builders so you can do it on your own website you create the image just like that and it’s very straightforward if you’ve ever used a blog or if you’ve ever used tumblr or something like that you could probably figure out about five minutes so you can do a gift ideas website like that number two you can do a reviews or comparisons channel or website of course you know you can also do gift ideas video channels well those are the two main ways I recommend you do these is it through a blog or through a video channel now you can do social media podcasts would be kind of hard to do and you can’t just really run ads only to affiliate links that would be hard to do as well you have to collect a big email list you have to keep your ad budget very low I mean it would be very complicated so I recommend you start out doing this with a youtube channel or a blog but the second way to do this is the reviews or comparisons channel and we’re talking about affiliate marketing so what you do you have like marques Brownlee does I use him in examples all the time when it comes to affiliate marketing and YouTube because he has a very good way of doing things and he’s very successful at it with over almost five million subscribers but you’ll notice that he has these links in the description like this one here so Circle it for you you’ll have something like this sometimes we’ll even have an affiliate link with Amazon and it’ll be like some of the stuff he used or the stuff that he mentioned in the video so in this case I recommend you put a link to the stuff that you mentioned in the video so you do a review let’s say you do a review of the new iPhone you do a review of a new robot that just came out you do a review of a new vacuum cleaner or whatever it is that you’re reviewing on your channel or your website whatever to stay consistent with the type of stuff you’re reviewing and have links to the affiliate page of the stuff that you’re reviewing usually Amazon will have that covered but you know you can also use Clickbank and many websites have their own affiliate program as well like Apple does so you can do that you can do reviews you can compare different things which is kind of reviewing two things at the same time a lot of times there’s people will narrow their purchasing decisions down to two products and that’s pretty much how you can do that like I said it’s pretty easy to get your wink you put it in the description or you put it in the blog post style format kind of like how they do in something like this so number three tutorials so a tutorial basically you walk people step-by-step how to do something you can do this through YouTube you can do this through your own website like this is kind of a tutorial right here how to set up a wordpress blog and another thing you can do of course is look at sites like how see how is all about tutorials they have videos about all kinds of different things like you know how to create little arts and crafts and how to do certain recipes and stuff like that another thing is here’s an example where you can actually see somebody using an affiliate link right here it’s an older video but Pat Flynn very good entrepreneur has his own podcast and everything but he used an affiliate link in his description here because that is the product he’s using and the tutorial for how to set up a website so you could click here and then if you buy the product that he’s using which is hosting then he gets a commission but the tutorial helped you set it up in the first place so everybody wins he’s not trying to you know do anything bad he’s just trying to help you and then if you think that’s the hosting you want to use then there’s a link it helped him and it helps you so that’s another thing you can do like ee how has all kinds of examples of you know tutorials this is one that uses an affiliate link in the description so use your description to your advantage if you’re going to do a channel on youtube using affiliate links number four you can do ebooks with affiliate links so many people don’t think to do this they think oh if I’m going to do affiliates going to do a niche website or something like that and like there are more creative ways to do things these days John Chow is one example of somebody who he does these free ebooks so he’ll do these ebooks you download the e-book on his site John Chou calm he makes money from a lot of different things he makes like a hundred thousand dollars a month or so and in this book he shows you some of the ways that he does it and he includes affiliate links to some of the products he uses to create this business so not only is he educating you with his free book but he’s getting paid through it through affiliate links so if you buy stuff through the links in the book if your book is formatted right then he gets paid so that’s one way that you can give away a book and even though you’re not paying for the book the writer of the book is still getting paid through links of affiliate products so you could try and go to John Chow calm put your name and email in and get his free ebook and you’ll see what I mean so that’s the way you can do it free if you want to do paid ebooks and then have affiliate links within books on Amazon like ebooks that you sell through Kindle then you would want to sign in with KDP dot amazon.com which allows you to make up to 70% royalties on sales to a lot of the major countries around the world and you’re selling ebooks on Amazon which Amazon started as a book store now they’re one of the biggest retail giants but they’re still like the best place to sell ebooks so not only are you making money from selling the e-book but then you have affiliate links within the book and to make these affiliate links clickable you want to convert your book to ePub format so you can go to online – convert calm and convert – to – eep UBB so or you can just look it up in Google results and it will be one of the top results but I’ve used this one before it works very well you don’t have to worry about anything going wrong with this site they make money through these ads here so they’re legitimate site and it allows you to put your text version or your PDF version of the book and convert it to ePub so epub allows your links and your ebooks to be clickable and then you can publish it on Kindle direct publishing you just sign in and click create new book or publish new book and it’s that straightforward so then you can get books sold then you get affiliate links as well if you mentioned stuff within a book so if you were like if you ever ever read the 4-hour workweek there’s an example of a book that has a lot of links in it but it’s still very good book it’s a best-selling book and it is very helpful so you can have a very good book very helpful very educational with affiliate links that make you some extra income and last but not least is a Pinterest affiliate marketing program so Pinterest used to not allow affiliate links now you can go on Pinterest and you can pin all sorts of things products if I wanted to get an affiliate link off of selling a Chevrolet Camaro I could save this find the affiliate link from wherever you might even get an affiliate link for a car but Tesla’s Tesla’s do have an affiliate program I think but anyway as far as doing affiliate marketing Pinterest realized that these people are trying to make money and trying to sustain their businesses and helping them would help Pinterest so they let affiliate links be allowed again on Pinterest so what you can do to make affiliate links is go to my profile when you’re signed in of course go to one of your pins so let’s say I went to this one you click that little pencil icon let me do that again real quick so you have this little pencil icon you can see here in the middle usually right next to your handle it’s you may not have analytics depending on if you verified your website which I have and if you don’t have buffer on there you may not see that but it’s a pencil which is the edit button so you click the pencil on the pen that usually has a picture of the product or video of the product or something and then where it says website here you would replace that with your affiliate link so let’s say I wanted to go back here I could go to text from Amazon copy this it’s my affiliate link go back to Pinterest replace the actual website that I got it from with the affiliate link and then click Save okay so that is what you would do to replace it with an affiliate link if this were like a product review or something like that or something that showed something about a product so you want to have a clear visual that shows what the product does a video a Jif a multi slide image maybe an infographic would be a good way to do that as well and that will help you get more affiliate sales by going directly through Pinterest that way if you don’t have a lot of subscribers on YouTube yet or if you don’t have a lot of followers on your website yet
