Never having done this before there was some initial fear. But I think fear is what keeps all of us from tapping into our full potential.
I message Nelson in Orlando, Florida and say “Hey Nelson. I’m thinking about booking a spontaneous trip to Orlando would love to crash on your couch if you’d allow me.” Nelson responded promptly with “Sure. Come on down.” That’s when I found myself booking a plane ticket from Iowa to Orlando at 1:30 pm on a Monday. 4:30 pm I was in the air. 8:30 pm I was in Orlando.
I can afford to stay in luxury hotels and often do but that’s not what this trip was about. This was about going somewhere I’ve never gone and doing something I’ve never done. That’s exactly what happened during the five days I was there. I met a film maker from LA, a marathon runner from Peru who I even shared a couch with, an engineer from Thailand, a psychology student and so many others.
