alright what's up guys Josh Locke here from the guy that make money online and this is another video on marketing and I'm doing a series called marketing 101 because it's very important when you make money online or when you're learning to make money online to know some marketing techniques because you can know all this stuff you know how to make an e-commerce store you can know how to build websites but if you don't know how to market them you can't really get your name out there and there's really no point to do it all so the reason I'm doing this is it is important to learn key marketing techniques and so yesterday I talked about target audience I don't put a link in the description to that video if you want to see that and today I'm going to talk about an extension of target audience which would be demographics Geographics and psychographics and I'm actually gonna take you on a tour of my YouTube analytics and show you what to look for when you're looking at your analytics whether it be Google Adwords YouTube social media Facebook I guess that would be social media but um anything analytics wise I'll show you how to look and what to look for so let's jump in my laptop and I'll show you some first-hand stuff on what to look alright someone jump into my screen capture before I begin if you're new here this channel is called the guy to make money online and as in the name I teach you everything you didn't know about how to make money online whether you want a full-time income or just the money on the side this channels for you so I post videos every day so you'll never be driving new content so that being said please subscribe like this video share it do all that stuff and let's get started alright so I've got my analytics pulled up and I'm gonna talk about demographics Geographics and psychographics alright so demographics is the the age the sex the income the religion the race all that stuff about the person and the Geographics is where that person is whether it be the country or specific region of a country like where it is on the planet and psychographics is that's probably in my opinion the most important part because this is how they think to persons of the same demographic they could have different like psyche I don't know what the word is like lifestyles how they think so if you're trying to sell a product that let's say it's for something outdoors and you have two people of the same demographics one person loves the outdoor stuff that's their lifestyle and the one person loves video games staying inside doing all that stuff you want to mark with people who have the psychology and the style of who you want to target and so it's very important to match up the demographics the Geographics and this psychographics all together to find your ultimate persona of who you're trying to reach so I'm going to talk about I'm gonna go through my analytics and show you what to analyze and so the first one I'm gonna show you is my demographics this is on YouTube you can use this for Google any social media I'm using YouTube just an example but the same rules apply to whatever you're using so let's see so I have demographics out of 65 thousand minutes of watch time in twenty six thousand views I can see that the majority of my viewers are males so like the teal is male and the green is female and so what I can do for this is since I know males are watching my videos more I could give you more my content Gordon man I find out I'm having a hard time talking okay restart I can gear my content more towards what the male mind thinks like or some products that they would like as opposed to the females I wouldn't want to completely discount the females out of the equation because I still do have female watchers but the main content of my videos need to be care towards males and with YouTube since I'm making videos this isn't a huge like life-changing thing how I'm gonna make my videos but if you have like a store that sells like a certain type of clothing and you realize males are viewing your store more you realize you want to sell more male clothing so that's where it applies with YouTube but it doesn't really matter to me who like male or female but I'm trying to reach because everyone wants to make money online so this this is just a good way to see how you should gear your products either male or female so all right so in addition to male and female you can see the age and so as you can see the main percentage of who people who watch my videos is aged 25 to 34 and so that means they probably have a full-time job which means they wouldn't want to watch videos during the day or if they do they'd be watching videos at work but I'm assuming they don't do that and so I want to post my videos either during the morning hours before they go to work during lunch hours or after work and so I've been spear minting with this see which one's the best I've actually put my videos on schedule and I'm currently taking data to see when is the best time to post my videos and I'm using this data to help me think through that so you want to think like how old the people are who are doing your things you want to think like what they will be doing during the day when would be the best time to show your product or show your video and then do that so 25 to 30 for most likely at work so if I had more 13 to 17 year-olds I would do it right after school because that's when school would let out or that's when they would be watching videos that's right after school all right so let's move on a Geographics and so I've got a world map pulled up and I can see where all my views are coming from it looks like the majority are coming from United States and England United Kingdom with some in Russia some in Canada but the lump sum is in the West yeah the western side of the world so I've got some South America but mainly North America and so I want to post the videos where those people are awake and so I would hate a poster there like midnight when these people are awake when the majority of my audience is awake during like typical Western time slots and so what I can do from there is like okay I need to do it during the daytime when America is awake but I also want to get some of my Asian and European viewers in there so maybe I could do it where it's daytime in the United States but like almost bedtime in Europe that way they're watching it right before bed so I get everyone in the world at the same time and so I can do that and when I click on the United States I can see exactly what states they're from so the eastern I've got a high concentration in California but the majority is like mainly on the eastern coast and so so let's say I want to reach the eastern coast but I don't want to discount California and Washington and so let's say I posted around lunchtime in Tennessee because I'm in Tennessee right now so we go back so post it around lunchtime in Tennessee so people are watching it during their lunch break on the eastern coast that way time-wise California people in California watch it right when they wake up because there's a three or four-hour time change and so if I do it at like 11 or 12 it'd be 8 or 9 here right when they wake up and also if I do that it will be let me go back to the world map if I do like 11 o'clock it'll be right around bedtime like nighttime areas with these guys and so so on at a time it where meets all the world together at once so you really have to think about that you got to trial it I'm also traveling this to see which is the best time to submit in my videos so that's how you look at that that's how you realize when is the best time to post or when is the best time to advertise your stuff all right so I wouldn't consider the psychographics because it's just a device but it is kind of their lifestyles I would group it under under that so I can see the majority people watch my videos on the computer which I'm not exactly sure what that tells me but I'm sure it could tell me something if I look into it I haven't done that much research on the the devices but so on the computer people will be more likely to watch long term on the computer they'd be more likely to click links on the computer so I might want to add more links in my descriptions let's see what else they might be more likely to click on ads because on the mobile phone no one ever clicks apt on the mobile phone tablet maybe that's kind of in the middle but I can gear my videos more towards computer configuration since I have the most videos on the computer and then also the psychographics you can look at retention or average view duration and so the psychograph O'Lakes will be different between google youtube social media because you're looking for differents psychology and what's the word lifestyles of the person so I can go in here and I've got my average view duration this is a good way to see the psychology of the person on YouTube and so right here I've got like the average view duration is 10 minutes that's massive and so I need to see which videos I posted in which videos were viewed that day and see what I did in those videos that I'm not doing the others and vice-versa this one has an average duration of 25 seconds which that's awful and so I can see which videos were viewed that and then I'll compare the ones to the high days and the low days to see what is retaining the audience what they like and what's different between the two and try to gear it more towards the higher one so and so this is a really good way to see like the inner mind of the person who's viewing your websites because psychologically they won't realize it but there may be something that displaces them or turns them away and it might be like the color scheme it might be how long the introduction is it might be something they don't even realize they just don't like it so I need to analyze why they like this one and then analyze why they don't like this one I try to not do that again so I'm gonna I'm gonna stop it here this video is super long it's gonna probably gonna be about ten minutes but anyway so you want to analyze the demographics the Geographics and psychographics and really see who your audience is who your target audience is and then you can take that data and adjust it to your future products or your future videos future social media posts and hopefully get more conversions over time hopefully get better results and yeah that's about that so I'm
