The Beginning of Ferrari
Enzo Ferrari, an Italian man interested in racing cars, created Ferrari. Originally, he had no interest in making just normal cars when he created Scuderia Ferrari way back in 1929.
However, Ferrari’s business disbanded when Alfa Romeo hired him as a racing manager. He would later leave at the start of World War II and created a new factory, waiting until he could use the name Ferrari again. Rather, he made machine tools and aircraft components for Fascist Italy. Yet, the following year in 1940, he built the first Ferrari. The vehicle was known as the Tipoffs 815 but received little recognition due to the war.
In 1943, Ferrari moved his factory to Maranello where it is still there to this day. However, the Allies bombed the factory, but it was later repaired and Enzo Ferrari decided to start making cars with his name on them in 1947.
The real first Ferrari with the name on it was built in 1947 and was called the 125 S.
Later Years
Ferrari would continue to build racing cars and was still a part of the racing scene in the aftermath of World War II. In early 1969, Fiat put in a 50% stake in the car manufacturer and gave Ferrari much-needed resources such as funds to knock out more cars.
