what’s up guys Brett here from Brett Dave comm coming at you once again from Chiang Mai in Thailand you have to excuse the low light of the camera Suns going down so I’m just trying to get this video done quickly before the Sun is down I recently had a question come in it on the comments of the YouTube related to e-commerce dropshipping working online so I thought I’d answer that question in a video as maybe it’d be beneficial for others as well so I think the guy has a YouTube channel called lost footprint so you might want to check that out he said nice video Brett I really enjoyed your channel I’m coming to Chang mines you lie it’ll be a new venture for me I’ve been traveling for a while I want to get a place where I can learn new skills I’ve had my eyes open to the possibilities of e-commerce I want to really push on I used to be an engineer so I’m learning from the bottom so to speak currently drop shipping on ebay with success and dabble a bit with Shopify and Ali and is Ali Express or al abama but I really want to commit to learning the whole process can you recommend any good books blogs etc aside from your channel of course thank you very much that’s a nice compliment so if you’re starting out with no background and you want to get into e-commerce and selling online and selling products can I recommend any books and courses now of course there are some very well-known courses out there that claim to teach you everything you need to know about drop shipping in e-commerce and I’m sure they’re great that probably have a lot of really good information in them so if you have the money to spend there might be a worthwhile investment to go and buy a very in-depth course based that’s built by somebody that really specializes in the topic I have no problem with these courses if you have the money and if you’re willing to spend the money the real thing I have a problem with about the courses is that there’s the promise that they’re going to earn you money which often isn’t the case but if you are just looking for raw information and you can buy a course that is 30 hours long on a topic that you actually really need to know about and you have the money to spend I’m sure you can you can do a Google search and find lots of good courses that will teach you about that if you don’t want spend any money and you wanna learn about e-commerce learn about drop shipping just use the internet you know or find some books on Amazon if you doing search and Amazon the best-selling books generally have the best information okay so sort by bestseller and you’re gonna be on the right track what I tend to do when learning anything new is you don’t want to spend too much time studying over studying okay you do want to study the subject but you don’t know make it your occupation to just be studying a subject without actually executing on the subject so if you look into dropship and you want to wire products from Aliexpress and sell them on your own website you know right there that you’re going to need a website and you know you’re gonna need to be able to set up Alex Aliexpress account and you might want to import products automatically right so go online find out how you can set up a website and build your site start there once your site’s built so right now how do I import products now whether you’re using Shopify or WooCommerce whatever ecommerce system you’re using stick with those two mainly because the most popular but they all have plugins in the Great Valley Express they all have plugins integrate with other third-party websites then handle that component of it you know and the whole thing is just a learning curve it’s a process and you’ve gone so consciously going to grow and build upon it and you’re only gonna learn by doing so I would recommend just take it one step at a time get your website built and get your products on your site if that’s what you’re doing if you drop ship in get the plugins configured once that’s all up and running then you need to start looking at making sales think about it creatively maybe once you have your product ask ask somebody’s opinion ask ask your friends or family or somebody that might have an opinion on whatever product you’re selling how do you think I should best sell this product it might be Facebook Ads it might be Google then you want to start researching Facebook ads at Google and this is what running e-commerce businesses are running a business online are all about I mean it’s not like you don’t just read a book and then know that it’s forever what you need to do the mark everything is constantly changing and evolving new software is coming out to automate processes new ad platforms you know Instagram might be a good platform for you to advertise on it depending on your product so it’s just the case of just taking it one step at a time you know what you need to do to get the fundamental basics in place you need to go to site at products on it or whatever and then just go from there and tackle it one step at a time I mean it’s another real important thing it’s not it’s good to not over think about the whole process cuz whatever you think the process is going to be right at the start that’s not what it’s gonna be it’s gonna change as you go along right so don’t think about what I’m gonna build the store then I’m going to do this for advertising and okay this for this and feel like and try and paint a picture in your head from nothing to millionaire dropshipping entrepreneur that’s not gonna happen it’s never going to go that way you’re gonna set up you’re gonna set up a store you’re gonna follow what you thought would work and you’re gonna find out it’s gonna fall flat on your face and then you’re gonna say right I’ve got this site I need to sell these products how else can I do this then you’re gonna go out start exploring and that’s kind of what it is that’s the process is this like there is no one fixed path for any particular business like I said use Google just search there’s so much information out there come on you can just do a Google search on how to how to do Facebook ads or whatever and find some good info use YouTube YouTube videos watch youtube videos find out like about stuff like that jump on forums like warrior forums and all these forums for entrepreneurs are very good so yeah
