hello friends Steve schuett here from Goldman video.com just wanted to make this quick video series give you guys some tips on how to evaluate a home-based business now I’ve been online and marketing and stuff probably for two years and actually got involved with you know a legit business after you know taking a year of just trying to study and figure out what works and what doesn’t you know doing the trial and error and I just wasted pretty much a whole year and a ton of money and now you know it’s been taking me about a year to actually make something work with a legit business and we’ll talk more about that later on but first I just want to make this video because so many people get scammed online and not to mention it’s kind of a combination of laziness too because people get lazy and they want you know people to build their downline and hand them over money like a lottery ticket you know and that that will be talking about a little more in this video series as well so but first you know just don’t be a sucker like I was you know and that’s why I’m making these videos so i can save you a ton of time and a ton of money because i’ve probably invested over ten thousand dollars just in you know home based business ventures and scams and all kinds of things and I just wanted to discussed a few things first that you need to stay away before we evaluate you know the real legitimate businesses out there that I’ll be be telling you here soon so first of all scams to stay away from gifting programs oh my goodness excellent excellent pay plans and everything and I loved it but you know they just don’t last very long and it’s illegal because there’s no product so uh I just want to give you guys an example of some gifting programs out there right now let’s go over here okay so here’s a good example of how gifting programs work you guys probably can’t hear that because I don’t have the audio on for that but like they say no selling no bothering you have to get your friends or family in there so it’s the one up system which is powerful that used in a lot of legit businesses and direct sales companies but you just say that you have to return phone calls you know that’s their main kind of pitch when you bring in Alan right and then Alan’s got to bring somebody in in order to get qualified that’s 3,500 bucks that’s a lot of money and in order to get qualified you know Alan you know the guy with a right there he has to bring in Bob and he has to pass that guy up you gotta remember there’s no product or no service or anything it’s just a straight straight up scam because it’s just an exchange of money and they call it a gifting program because you know they can get a tax-free if it’s a gift they’re like there’s a rule I guess I don’t know where this rule can be found but they’re saying that I think the the most largest gift that you can give tax free is 10,000 or 11,000 dollars so some of these gifting programs are outrageous you know they’ll exchange and give a gift you know with quotes you know of ten thousand dollars you know they usually range around like 500 to 35 hundred dollars as you can see right there but I mean seriously I mean these things don’t last at all they always get shut down within you know months or weeks and they don’t last you know like I got in and the next month got shut down and I got in another one they got shut down again so I mean if you’re considering a gifting program yeah sure you can make some money but you’re not going to be making money legally not to mention it’s going to get shut down right away so don’t even waste your time even though the pay plan does look no promising and it’s pretty attractive I can show you guys some legit that actually have a product that does work it’s a real product it’s not like an amway kind of scam thing and yeah just stay away from the gifting program it’s a waste of time so that’s the gifting program let’s move on to the next one alright guys so I decided to since YouTube only allows you know 10 minutes at a time for videos I decided to give you you know one you know scam to stay away from and you know one tip to use to evaluate a home-based business so and the next one will be talking about surveys more in the next tip on how to evaluate a business so we’re going to shoot right over to tip number one on how to evaluate a business alright tip number one has the company been around for at least five years that’s kind of a good rule of thumb to play by because you know so many network marketing businesses and you know different programs out there don’t even last you know a couple months and so you want to make sure that they have like a solid track record and there are some exceptions you know to new trends and everything like that but just make sure you know like I was saying with the gifting program that they have a solid product a real product or service or mentoring or training or something that they can offer not just an exchange of money because it’s just a scam you know it’s illegal and it’s really frowned upon what I’m fine with gifting programs is people can’t even you know talk about what they do you know they have to use lefties cover up words like give and receive and you know this is a pledge and it’s just not fun it’s just like you’re hiding something and just do not really who you want to be and you know you want to be able to represent your company or your business and not hide and play under the radar it makes a bunch of money illegally so five years is a good rule of thumb and like I said you know the exception is if it’s a new trend if it’s hot now I mean don’t wait five years later and then miss out on it you know get in but makes sure that there’s a real product so that’s pretty much it for you know tip number one in the next video we’re going to be going over tip number two as well as you know surveys which you know or most of them are scams I can show you the ones that actually work and point you in the right direction because that’s kind of how I got started out was with surveys and that’s kind of the first place I made money but there’s a ton of survey scams out there and ebooks and stuff like that let’s say they’re going to make you you know 150 bucks an hour you get to go in these focus groups and everything like that so will be explaining it more in tip number two and i
