like a percentage on each transaction that goes through your account some will have a monthly fee as well but as I say it’s just worth shopping around for the right deal overall the costs for getting started don’t involve a great deal of upfront investment on your part in terms of e-commerce software you support the choice here you could use a tool like PrestaShop or WooCommerce these are both powerful ecommerce platforms where commerce is based on WordPress and that’s the world’s most popular web design tool so it’s rock-solid they’re both what’s known as open source software that’s a a foregone conclusion so I’d always recommend to have a contingency in place I always recommend PayPal as one option the more options you give people to make payments the better in fact some people just prefer to pay with PayPal another option is stripe with stripe you can apply online you get accepted you can start accepting online payments in minutes they check the transactions they monitor your account and look at everything that’s coming through there but as long as there’s no funny stuff going on or you’re not selling in anything dodgy you’ll be absolutely fine but you wouldn’t do that anyway would you stripe these a reasonable and certainly within the same range that you would expect to pay your merchant account your bank and your payment gateway provider who would typically
