hey everybody matt clark here if you can hear me would you mind typing in yes Matt into the Q&A box okay perfect lots and lots of yeses go to webinar is acting a little buggy so no man I get a little prompt that says the webinar is starting but didn’t get anything like that but I think I could tell the webinar was started so if you can hear me that means we have started so we’ve got tons and tons of people were actually just got full so we’re at a thousand ten days out of the thousand that they let live so I have to shut a few little notification boxes that pop up so let me close those like I said go to webinars acting a little bit buggy but posting the Q&A box um if you have any audio issues so um a lot of times people have minor one so if there’s a shortcut out I wouldn’t be too worried about that I’d shut down whatever else you can on your computer that’ll help sort of clear up bandwidth but just sit tight for just a couple seconds I got to close a few boxes here that’s acting like I said a little bit funny but hopefully it works out fine okay there we go little boxes were hiding behind each other so um cool looks like everyone can hear me some people say there’s no sound no audio so most people say everything is all good I think we should be fine so going to help go ahead and get started here in just a second while we’re waiting for things to sort themselves out cuz it looks like good webinar sort of back up and running how it should be so while waiting here just a couple minutes what I’d like to know is you know um I checked beforehand to see sort of how many of you how many people that are coming on here you know our ASM members or any other sort of other members so what I would like to know real quick is from you for the people that made it on live because if you drop off unfortunately probably won’t be able to get back on like I said and a few if you got their most recent email I told you that there was over four thousand registered there’s about 4,500 when I checked it this morning it’s about 4,500 registered only about a thousand or allowed all on this there’s gonna be a lot of people who are not able to make it on so if you um have to get off or if you accidentally get kicked off or something and you can’t get back on don’t worry we’re going to do our best to send out a replay of this webinar and so doing another these tonight at 9pm central so here it’s 12 p.m. central so at 9pm central we’re doing another one of these webinar same exact webinar just to allow people in different time zones to hear it live but worst case we’ll get a so what I would like to know just real quick is it looks like people have already been typing it in here so what I think to know is if you’re either an ASM member or maybe you remember one of our other courses and not a sm if that’s the case just type in the name of that course or if you’re not a member of anything just type not a member not amazing not calm mimics do a lot of people you know we’ve got something like 350,000 people that are on our email is to get these emails from time to time and you know you like some of the content we’ve put out there but maybe you’ve never completely signed up so again a lot of ASM members which is what I thought I’ve got somebody Steven cashville and be a member that’s cool we’ve got aidan who’s a spouse of an ASM member um this person chris says not a member so cool welcome another Chris not a member so a bunch of ASM members somewhere not amazing a calm member so still so affiliate marketer Andhra is affiliate marketer not a member welcome and i would say probably seventy percent of the people here 70 maybe even eighty percent of the people are ASM members which is cool you all are super engaged really appreciate everything that you’ve done with us and you know a lot of what were we talking about here it’s going to be extremely relevant to you but it’s also relevant no matter what business you want to do or are already doing if you’re doing affiliate marketing any kind of business you’re interested in doing or already doing you will benefit by being here and i’m going to use some examples from it it’s a platform that i know very well it’s a platform i knew everyone would relate to because you know like i said eighty percent of our people here here live on this webinar asn members and a vast majority of you the only way you found out about us is somebody likely told you about some free training we release and so you learn some stuff about amazon so maybe you are interested in physical products but don’t let that pigeonhole you this stuff can be applied to any business you want so not just a sm but it’s ashley ASM if that’s what you’re doing but think about even beyond maybe in the future you want to do something else or maybe you want to evolve your business or maybe you want to do multiple businesses or maybe you want to do something like selling physical products no matter what you want to do this is going to be relevant to you and so we’ll get started right now so I’m gonna minimize some of this other stuff on my screen so I’m going to just start running through the presentation I won’t be able to see your feedback we’ve got some of our team members that are sitting here on this webinar they’ll be answering questions in QA and so if any major issues pop up I’m sure they’ll come running same screen you are already seeing but now it should be full screen and we’ll go ahead and start going so what I to know is to ask yourself is have you seen something like this here’s an addict pulled off the internet says it literally melted away 25 pounds in just two weeks new weight loss wonder nutrient helps women and men lose 10 to 25 to 50 pounds or more and this is supposedly according to this ad anyways a medical breakthrough how about something like this this is a fat burner energy lip balm apparently you put it on your lips and it suppresses appetite also apparently patent pending or on a different completely different um area of business I guess is something that I learned about recently you may or may not have ever heard about this is the first time I’ve ever heard about this called the Baltimore stockbroker so what this is is a stockbroker sends out a newsletter sends out a newsletter to a big list of people maybe he bought or bought the list of people from from a list broker sends out a newsletter that says next week I guarantee you because I’ve done all the research and I know what I’m doing on the world’s greatest stock picker next week this stock is going to go up now that person says this stock is going to go up and you’re like okay whatever I’ll take a look at it and it’s wrong and this first investment to he recommends is wrong then doesn’t matter what else he sends you in the future gonna be like this person has no clue what he’s talking about however in this newsletter if that investment number one is correct you’re like okay maybe he got lucky maybe he’s onto something I don’t necessarily know so he sends out another newsletter the next week saying a different stock the next week is guaranteed to go up now that one’s wrong you’re like oh Gators person definitely probably doesn’t know he’s talking about he got one right one wrong anybody can sort of guess which way it’s going however on the other hand if he sends you out a newsletter you never heard of this person before since next week this stock is going to go up it goes up you’re like okay I’ll pay attention since that another newsletter says a next week this next stock is going to go up it goes up again you’re like wow this person must absolutely know what he’s doing you know maybe I’ll put money in with him maybe I’ll invest with him the problem is is this sort of scam has been run before and all they were doing was sending out different groups of newsletters to group a they sent the stock goes up to group B they sent the stock goes down the next week based into that to the two different groups the stock goes up the stock goes down so you’ve got four different groups there one of those groups is going to get to write answers just by the nature of probability so one the group is going to get to positive answers unfortunately this is how some businesses are run even mutual funds I’m not going to sit here and harp on mutual funds for an entire webinar but some mutual funds have a period of what’s called incubation incubation means that they are basically trying to find out they’ve created a whole bunch of mutual funds they put a whole bunch of stocks into the mutual funds they find out which ones produce a high return and they kill the other ones so when they release those mutual funds to the public and start raising money for them those are the ones that happen to a had better performance but maybe it was just luck because the trend is is that once those mutual funds reach the public they tend to all revert to a mean or to an average those ones may have just been lucky at the beginning this is how some of the biggest financial transactions on financial markets in the world work unfortunately now here’s another one he astral no marker that we’re all familiar with so this stuff is so hard to believe that I’m amazed anyone falls for it so badly and debt he nearly got arrested to accidentally discovering an app that banked me a real 730 thousand dollars 730 thousand two hundred and sixty dollars in one cent with an honest five clicks of the mouse five clicks of the mouse this person supposedly produced three quarters of a million dollars it’s over this sort of stuff has a run its course the internet is no longer knew and that’s why we’re here to talk about the future of the Internet what does it look like now that the world has become extremely transparent now the consumers are not being tricked by stuff that they see in a newsletter they’re getting the email or in the mail are being tricked by little ads that they see online because by now they’ve seen millions of these ads these sort of old tricks are not working anymore and for a good reason because they’re not adding value to consumers it’s time to be real it’s time to focus on actually delivering value to consumers it’s time to focus on thinking about the people you serve in a business as real people as people that have husbands that have wives that have kids that have grandparents that have problems in their lives that have good things going on their lives that they have a house they have to pay for they have kids they have to send to college these are real people on the other end of a transaction now we’ll go through some examples today of some things that you wouldn’t do to a friend but I’m not saying you in the sense of not necessarily you personally but you as a business owner collectively talking about everyone stuff that we see out there for everyone so I’m not necessarily maybe this isn’t you but maybe if we let ourselves stretch a little bit some of this stuff is stuff that we’ve done or some and stuff that we’ve thought about doing or at least have seen other people doing and we didn’t think that much about it but some things that you know you’ll do to uh in if you’re if you’re sort of just reaching a wide audience after putting an ad you’re putting a product listing on Amazon you’re putting an ad on facebook you may fudge the truth a little bit but if you were talking to a friend of yours you wouldn’t say those same kind of thing because they never trust you and they would ever want to be friends with you so then why are you willing to do those things when you’re reaching thousands of people you’re basically doing that to thousands of people so that’s what we’re going to be talking about that’s why this is the nine principles of the internet business of the future these aren’t secrets these are things that you probably already know these are things that you realize you probably should be doing but maybe aren’t doing maybe you’ve been taught differently maybe we’ve taught differently maybe I’ve taught you differently you know as one of the original creators of amazing selling machine you can blame a lot of this stuff on me to some extent now some of the stuff i’m going to show you is pushing stuff way too far but it’s time to be real it’s time to build a business that’s going to be around for the long term like I said the newness of the Internet is over people are tired of seeing that kind of stuff and the companies that are willing to sort of take a risk and being more honest and take a risk and delivering more value to consumers rather than chasing sales these are the companies are going to be around for a long long time and that’s what we’re going to be talking about so the nine principles of the internet business of the future principle number nine when we count down from nine to one principle number nine build a better product sounds crazy right probably also sounds pretty simple but most people don’t focus on this so here’s a product I pulled off of Amazon I just searched for bluetooth headphones this is one of the ones that I found so this is a bullet point from their actual Amazon listing the English is a little bit rough they could probably use some work there which is a whole nother discussion but stable in ears design a unique flexible lightweight design gaining better sound experience interchangeable earhook can perfect fit and remain around your ears when you are running cycling exercise and doing other work out ideally they would have spent some time at least worked on some capitalization and some print better English blood just take a look at the promises that they’re making it and then I pull out a review jason says steer clear for those concern they will fall out during exercise you have a legitimate concern I’ve tried all the different earbuds this product comes with and they still continuously fall out at the gym due to the weight and design also the battery life is extremely poor but how could this be they just said that the ear piece fits great they said that you can use it during exercise I said you can use it during running but here’s someone who’s having the exact problem that they say won’t happen another bullet point from their listing amazing compatible 99% bluetooth capabilities advanced headphones easily connect for pc tablet iPhone 6 plus ipad ipod samsung s6 s5 note for Moto G motor LG HTC phones top-notch warranty of culex provides a 12-month worry free warranty amazon customer did not provide their name says these suck device will not pair with my iphone 6 instructions require a magnifying glass to read google search for help gives nothing but propaganda about how great this piece of junk is it won’t pair with the iphone 6 that’s one of the basic promises of this product if somebody has an iphone 6 and they’re buying bluetooth headphones to use them on a plane for example you kind of wanted to be able to pair with their device this one won’t even work with that next bullet point sweat proof and excellent battery performance earbuds are protecting damaged from water or sweat bose 160 hours of standby operation or eight hours of play / talk time businesses use benefit from this extended battery performance bradley says i got the headphones and charged them out of the box and they work fine they worked for about two weeks headphone stopped charging in less than a month i got the headphones and charged him out of the box and they worked fine they worked for about two weeks and then stopped charging what happened to the excellent battery performance the light showed red and then turned blue which meant they should be charged a try using them and they showed off immediately it will not turn back on because the battery was still dead so they didn’t last very long I thought they were supposed to have excellent battery performance and be high quality another another review so mary says total waste of time money worked great once again this might sound redundant once great work great for two weeks with both iphone and kindle that i switch to iphone 6 and it wouldn’t work suddenly connected after about two weeks for no apparent reason still won’t connect to kindle and if you read through the rest of the things as i try to follow the semi English instructions about plugging into charger and so on but they didn’t make any sense and at the bottom they said update now they won’t connect an iphone either double junk and then there’s another person saying cheap material excellent up until it broke i had haven’t even had it for 10 days that’s because this company that’s making these is focused on producing sales likely doing a lot of stuff to optimize an amazon listing even though the english isn’t great they put all kinds of content in there they have multiple fancy images they went out of the way to create an image with somebody with these things running but they’re not spending time focusing on building a better product these people’s basic concerns people want a headphone that fits they want one that’s waterproof they want one that has a good battery it’s not that complicated but this product isn’t delivering on that and a lot of products out there are not people’s needs are not that great which is why there’s such opportunity in focusing on what nobody else is actually going to focus on so this product is s word will replace that with crap this product is crap don’t waste your money this bluetooth headphones doesn’t work don’t waste your money I received this crap three days ago the first day works good the second day Bluetooth doesn’t work with any phone i got the iphone 6 i say my iphone 5 doesn’t work with either one works just a little bit for about 30 minutes even though it said it would have a hundred and sixty hours of standby time here’s another product in a different market this is one I just found when I never heard of before these kind of things pop up all the time one-day sale this is when I pulled this listing I highlighted this and trust me I look this morning this is still their one day sale the world’s first garcinia fused super thermogenic pound-for-pound the strongest most comprehensive fat burner on the planet if you want caffeine go to Starbucks if you want the most complete cutting-edge fat burner ever created proceed to the checkout pretty big promise sounds pretty good when i checked it saturday January sixteenth at 2016 the price was listed at twenty four dollars and ninety-nine cents list price fifty-nine dollars 99 cents price forty nine dollars 99 cents and they’re so nice to give customers the sale price of twenty four dollars and ninety-nine cents so I was like okay you know they’re running a one-day sale let’s check out the next day so I checked on sunday january seventeenth 2016 the very next day I took a look at the price twenty-four dollars 99 I in a sense one day later well you know maybe I checked it within the 24 hours maybe this really is a one-day sale maybe they just haven’t updated because it hasn’t quite been 24 hours yet it wasn’t really paying attention to the time I was checking so went back the next day Monday January 18 2016 list price our sale price twenty-four dollars and ninety-nine cents now something’s looking a little funny this one day bullet point is still there twenty-four dollars and ninety-nine cents is still the sale price for the products then I checked this morning also maybe they still don’t update it Tuesday January nineteenth 2016 sale price twenty-four dollars and ninety-nine cents this is what I’m talking about you wouldn’t sit there and lie to a friend and tell them that this thing is only available for one day you have to buy today you’ll get better price in a day if you don’t buy today you’re not going to get a good deal and then they have not have that not be true and then you know knowing you’re not going to update the price the next day you wouldn’t tell a friend that but you’re willing to tell thousands of strangers of that just to make a few extra sales which will only make you a few extra sales now it won’t do a long term because nobody will trust your brand one star I bought two bottles hoping it would work and it has not I see no change doesn’t work for me this was supposed to be according according to their description the best fat burner ever made indefinite results took his directed gave me vertigo had to discontinue about the product using our proprietary multistage thermo synergistic weight loss technology i feel like they made up half these words this formula was designed to shatter all boundaries of what modern-day fat burner has become attacking fat from every direction on multiple stages and at the highest level possible providing drastic results for both shedding inches and shedding pounds don’t waste your time with anything else this thing attack attack’s fat from every direction fat cannot escape when you’re taking this product this person posted September 11 2014 did not do anything for me at all in fact did not do anything from all taking some other product along with this one just going to most prescribed and gained two pounds it’s supposed to be the most effective a fat burner ever created in the entire history of fat burners this person gained weight on it not exactly the result people are after so I want to ask you something whenever you saw google for the first time did you see it because you saw it on TV being advertised like infomercials in $19.95 is that how you found out about is that how they got you to use it not at all it’s because they built a better product building a better product made people want to talk about it because it was better than anything else out there if I saw somebody back then searching on yahoo and like you’re crazy i said why don’t you use google it’s way faster it’s way easier to use its way cleaner the results are better and it keeps improving it wasn’t because it was advertised on TV is because they literally built a better product even today after all uh you know however long it’s been it’s been a decade plus since to Google’s been the leader in search and there were people that were there before they even existed even today let’s take a look at them and a big competitor which one would you rather do a search on I don’t even know where to start on the one on the right on yahoo and I don’t even know what exactly their business is there male news sports finance weather autos fantasy shopping makers parenting health style beauty politics movies travel tech TV celebrity games they apparently advertising some t-shirts or somebody else is running ads on their site they’re telling you what’s trending they have tumblr they have answers they have mail their mobile all I want to do is do a search Google on the left very simple very clear that’s what you’re supposed to do when you get there on the right that’s why they’re having all kinds of trouble having layout laying off all kinds of people are selling assets it’s not a good situation to be in even to today they weren’t willing to focus enough on building a better core product and Google beat everybody and then we all know the story about you know Apple they focus relentlessly on building better products they would push out release dates because the product wasn’t good enough but yet and the history from back in the days they were building products that even the inside of the product inside of a computer was designed to be beautiful looking even though nobody would ever see it other than people working on the product but that was the attention to detail that they had build better products and they’re one of if not the I can’t remember where the stock market is now but they’ve been the most valuable company on the and it may be the first trillion dollar company ever with about 200 billion dollars sitting around in cash because they focused on building a better product here’s an on that a little bit smaller example which you may be able to relate to a little bit more so this is a brand of coolers and this you can actually find this video on YouTube it’s called Yeti verse the 500 pound man this is a 500 pound man who sits there for a couple minutes trying to break this cooler so yet is a brand of high-end coolers that popped up a few years ago they haven’t been around that long but they saw an opportunity and their goal is to build the best cooler ever made so on amazon right now if you look at this cool though you’ll see they have about 4.8 out of 5 stars with about eighty-two percent of their reviews being five stars or 89% being five or four star and then here’s a different product it’s not that hard to build a cooler maybe some you know weight loss supplements you know people think that they’re going to get magic out of it they don’t get magic out of it they get upset a cooler pretty much delivers on its promises it’s cools food there’s not much else to it this cooler competing cooler five star 4.3 out of 5 stars our overall rating all t % of the reviews are five-star a heck of a lot less than the yeti cooler and so here’s a few news articles or a few news clippings i mean so from small start austin-based yeti grows new an industry powerhouse another article said they built a cult following I’m from Texas so maybe I Cal ittle bit of a different sort of perspective on this but I see guys running around all the time with Yeti hats Yeti stickers on their trucks yeti coolers proudly displayed it everywhere they can imagine is is a big big brand for people that are into that sort of thing hunting and fishing and that’s where it’s mainly popularized so today the company which is best known in Texas and other Gulf Coast states sells its products at 4,000 stores in all 50 states in 2011 Yeti pulled in 30 million dollars in revenue that’s 2011 that number had risen by above a hundred million dollars in 2013 maintenance said yet he expects to sell another million coolers over the next 12 months and going in the future on that niche is brought dramatic growth in 2014 the company’s sales rose more than thirty three percent from the previous year reaching a hundred and fifty million dollars company officials expect to hit 250 million dollars in revenue in 2015 Yeti has been profitable since inception here’s another person you all may recognize this is Elon Musk one of the one of the original founders of PayPal the founder of Tesla the founder of SpaceX has built which is a very unique claim that not many people can make even some of the biggest entrepreneurs in the world has built three multi-billion dollar companies he says a Tesla we’ve never spent any money on advertising we put all our money into R&D research and design engineering design and research and development engineering design and manufacturing to build the best car possible here’s something you may want to write down when we is what he says when we consider spending money we ask if this will create a better product if not we don’t proceed with spending money how does this compare to a lot of people that are going out there let’s use Amazon as example but you could say in local businesses you could say in mobile apps you could say in service businesses digital businesses it doesn’t matter how many people build the bare minimum product just to get something out there and then spend all the rest of their money on marketing marketing will bring you people in but you’ll keep having to run that race and spend more and more money on marketing competing against more and more people because the people that you bring in don’t stick they don’t buy more stuff from you they don’t refer friends and family they don’t give you that free source of marketing so you back into spending for more money and advertising to bring in equivalent amount of revenue which will eventually diminish because advertising tens get more expensive over time because platforms get more advertisers on there but then here’s a company that I believe now is worth 10 plus billion dollars we don’t spend any money on advertising they spend everything to create a better product something you should consider and we’ll talk more about that as we keep going through this so principle number one build a better principle number nine build a better product principle number eight give people what they want so here’s a knife sharpener I found amazon just a random when i picked out not one i had bought before but i want to walk you through an example of how you can build a better product extremely easy doesn’t even matter if you’ve never sold on amazon before but how you can build a better product because nowadays with the internet and the availability of information and customer reviews it’s easy to find what people don’t like and what they do like in the past you’d have to do focus groups on all kinds of stuff that took a lot of time cost a lot of money required a lot of logistics now you just look on amazon or look on any other review site whether you’re looking at yelp for local businesses and maybe you want to start a restaurant or maybe you’re looking in the app store because you want to build an app or let’s talk about amazon so look at this look at the reviews for this product and i started making some notes so this review says just bought brand new and there’s rust on my new sharpener the sharpener I God has started getting rust I ripped off the cover or else I would have returned it so making some notes for myself if I want to build a better knife sharpener first thing I’m going to do have anti rust material it’s not a problem people should be experiencing so here’s another curve you I read waste of money item didn’t work at all the two white honing rod seemed to be the problem well one stays still the other one spins when you run the knife through not sure which way they’re supposed to work so the person doesn’t know how to use the product but one of them is obviously wrong the end result is it made no difference on the two knives I try it on and I think they’re actually a little duller now close to sharpen knives the knife’s actually got dollar so i would have more stable rods and then i also have better instructions you did nothing else but created better instructions you now have a better product than this one and all the examples i’m pulling these products are selling well these aren’t ones that are struggling so there’s sort of you know examples i don’t matter that’s why they have so many reviews because these are selling well people want to buy these things so i’m going to show you how easy it is to do better than them so waste of money in space is a different review didn’t perform well at all if you have knives as dull as the edge of a dinner plate this will improve them marginally if you want knives that are actually sharp go with traditional steel so another point for me better material if i want to build a better knife sharpener i’m also going to have better material is another person not worth to buy tried several times can’t get a knife sharp and even make it more duel my hands are small so still feel the sharpener is too small to hold its first time to get pointed from amazon larger base this person said the thing needs to be larger so maybe you look at a few other reviews if you find that consistently you also make it larger so by adding anti-rust material more stable rods better instructions better material larger base this is what I’m talking about what I’m talking about the future of the internet business or especially the future of ASM if you’re an ASM member and you listen to me right now start thinking about this and thinking wow maybe I should do this rather than it is going out and looking at what other people are doing and finding the cheapest bare minimum product that meets those requirements think about how you can do more for consumers that’s how you add more value to the marketplace you add more value to consumers you definitely add more value to your business you add more value to Amazon because all they care about is having better products and better value for their consumers so everyone wins this is how we get to my hundred-thousand-dollar bit this year 2016 I’m plan to put a hundred thousand dollars of my own money on the line to prove this to you i’m going out into a completely new market that i’ve never been in before never sold in before and creating a brand new product and the goal is to create the world’s best version of that product i’ve started scoping out doing a lot of work and research and all that sort of good stuff and I think it’ll probably take a few months if not six months to get the product up and running and then have a whole plan and we’ll let you all know whenever it’s all executed but I am living by this because I believe there’s such massive opportunities people talk about Amazon being saturated people talk about ASM being saturated I know people have always talked about that ever since we had three people we had taught this thing to that’s what everyone always says when they don’t want to do the work maybe there are more sellers there are definitely more sellers for any given product but most people are not going above and beyond most people are not doing what it takes to add more value to consumers to add more value to the marketplace to do more for customers than anyone else they’re just kind of doing the bare minimum and then trying to produce sales you can do better and then like I said is doesn’t work just on amazon so if you’re sitting here like I don’t care about selling on Amazon or I have a different business this can work with any platform you can look at reviews from just about any business whether you’re using a amazon yelp app store angie’s list or any of the other sort of websites you can find reviews of what other people are not doing well and you can do that better and build a better business that eventually people will catch on and will do business with you rather than those other people that are doing the bare minimum principle number seven be honest even in marketing here’s a news article I polska leaked emails contribution to this nation’s ill health one of the biggest brands on the planet obviously has an issue because people are becoming more health-conscious coke is not exactly a healthy drink so what do they resort to they resort to unethical um marketing essentially and then here’s an example I pulled from amazon that I’ve you been an ancient member have you been selling on amazon for any time we’re all aware the old vitamin c serum the one of the most saturated products on amazon some people still do extremely well I believe we have multiple members doing probably a hundred thousand dollars plus a month there’s still opportunity any product you want but you can do better so let’s take a look at this look at the first part of the title best vitamin C serum this one is the best this one right here is the best one because they say it they’re the best let’s take a look at another one new 3 and 1 best organic vitamin C maybe it’s a little bit different but this one is definitely the best it’s the best organic one now let’s take a look at another one this one is also the best organic vitamin C the word best means there’s someone that is at the top and the other people are less they can’t all be the best but they’re all claiming it to be the best then if you look if you do a search for vitamin C serum I do a search on the page for the word best there’s 35 mentions of being the best for this search result there’s only 48 products so let’s say at least half of them are saying that they are absolutely best what do they bake on have they done research to find that they’re the best do they feel like they’re offering the best customer service do they feel like they have the best quality the best effectiveness I don’t know I doubt it I think they’re just using the word best to try to produce more sales 22% professional strength vitamin c e fairly for you look as a guaranteed fastest working anti-age anti-wrinkle best vitamin guaranteed fast is working guaranteed fast is working do you think ask yourself right now do you think this person has bought every other vitamin c serum product on amazon to do a thorough test a thorough research test to find out if there’s really does work faster i don’t think so i think they just made stuff up and put it in the title not honest marketing people don’t trust your brand when you’re just throwing stuff out there like that and you don’t deliver on the promise here’s a old billboard from an ad that you know avis rental car company used to run since avis is only number two in rental cars so we try harder they’re being honest about their position their only number two so they try hard and using that to their advantage they didn’t have to go out there and you know make promises that they can’t deliver on make claims that aren’t even true that they can’t back up they just told you flat out their position and what they were going to do about it here’s a hotel we actually recently had a guy speak at our live event that brought this to my attention bet that is a pretty funny example it’s a hotel in Europe so Hans Brinker budget hotel it can’t get any worse but we’ll do our best this is an ad they’ve actually run for to get more people to stay at their hotel being very honest about their position on quality here’s another ad for that hotel now more rooms without a window Hans maker budget hotel amsterdam the owners of the hotel have embraced its bad reputation have been cashing in on it with a book called you guessed it the worst hotel in the world in a series of tongue-in-cheek advertising campaigns over the last few years that have resulted in what they say is a very high occupancy rate they’re being honest and they’re getting more business because of it number six serve customers this is a quote from most of you are probably familiar with it amazon closes Zappos deal ends up paying 1.2 billion dollars for zappos back in two thousand nine so Zappos is known for its customer service that’s where they put all their focus you know they made a good website they do all that kind of good stuff that sort of gets them in the game but where they put all their focus is in serving customers because when they do that those customers refer other people those customers come back and buy more stuff because they had such a good experience so if you’re going to focus on two areas of your business build a better product do better customer service those are the things that people actually care about they don’t care about how fancy your marketing is they don’t care about how much marketing you do they don’t care about a lot of that stuff they don’t care about how well you know how to do any sort of advertising all they care about is having a better product and better service when something goes wrong but ideally with a good enough product there’s not that much going wrong so Jeff Bezos founder of Amazon founder and CEO of amazon says proactively delighting customers earns trust which earns more business from those customers even in new business areas proactively delighting customers think about right now how can you do more for your customers how can you do things that they don’t expect maybe you include in the package when they get your product some unexpected bonus or unexpected benefit or unexpected use for the product what else can you do for customers I recommend writing down one thing a day that you can do to proactively delight customers it doesn’t mean that you’re going to be able to implement that thing right away but it means that you’re at least thinking about doing more for customers rather than sitting there with a scarcity mindset thinking about how you get more customers to produce more revenue think about what else you can do for customers amazon has done this they’re constantly rolling out new features every day really to do more for customers to add more value to customers that is their primary focus and why they’ve done so well and here’s a ritz-carlton hotel very nice hotel chain if you’ve ever stayed there one of the best in the world if the employees are trained to break routine to solve problems and own them until they’re resolved they work hard to anticipate customer needs and employees are empowered this is important part employees are empowered with up to two thousand dollars to resolve any customer concern they are so adamant about giving customers good service that they tell their employees look for any given customer spend up to two thousand dollars whatever it takes it doesn’t matter if it’s a free night in the hotel it doesn’t matter if it’s a free meal free bottle of champagne whatever it takes to keep that customer happy you have up to two thousand dollars which is a pretty big window to do stuff for customers that’s how adamant about doing good customer service which is you research them online research how they do customer service a lot of good stuff you can learn for your own business they are one of the best when it comes to customer service but that’s what it takes is being willing to do whatever it takes to help customers because you’re thinking for the long term if you’re thinking you know this customer bought one unit from me i only make ten dollars a unit I’m gonna have to go and spend 40 bucks fixing their issue so I’m technically losing one I technically lost thirty dollars but what you’re forgetting to realize is all the future purchases that customer makes if they’re ecstatic about your business about your product about your service all the people that they refer all the friends and family and how they spread your brand throughout the world that’s really where the money comes from it doesn’t come from one-off transactions that’s not how businesses grow number five maximize value not revenue per customer this is something you may have seen recently if the drug goes from thirteen dollars and fifty cents a tablet to seven hundred and fifty dollars overnight this company the CEO of the company was trying to maximize revenue not how much value they were giving consumers they didn’t go out and try to create a better product they didn’t try to get into more hands of consumers they didn’t try to create a cheaper they just try to maximize revenue so what ends up happening not only becomes most hated CEO on the planet also ends up getting arrested farmer bro Martin’s Corelli detested CEO who jacked a price of AIDS pill arrested on securities fraud charges try this is an extreme example of trying to maximize revenue not thinking about the customers that you’re serving and trying to do more for them once again let’s go back to Jeff Bezos he says your margin is my opportunity he’s not sitting there trying to figure out how to make the most amount of money off of you as a consumer if you’re sitting there shopping on Amazon he is trying to make a profit on those sales which a lot of it gets funneled back under the business which is why they’ve kind of run it break even for a long time their goal is not to make a bunch of profit overall because they take profits from sales and they put a mac and a growing the business but they’re still looking to make profit on sales he says your margin is my opportunity when somebody else sits there and they say they want a ninety percent margin he’ll be he’ll sit there and say I’m happy with 10 or 5 because I know by doing that I get more customers I get more customers which helps refer more customers which helps build a bigger business and in the long term I win I’m not sitting there trying to maximize and suck every dollar out of the people that I’m serving I’m sitting there trying to deliver the most amount of value making a reasonable amount of profit so that I can be in business and dominate long term so here’s a little calculation you may want to write this down or not we could try to get these slides out to you so I’m going to go kind of quickly so now this is important though before I go into this you have to assume that you have a great product and great customer service that gets you in the game you have a great product and great customer service so let’s say the price of this fictional product is $29.95 let’s say the cost everything in shipping fees everything else is fifteen dollars so you sell it for $29.95 the cost per unit is fifteen dollars so your profit is $14.95 so sales per month I’d say at this $29.95 your sales per month or 10,000 your referral percentage percentage is ten percent you’ve got a great product you’ve got gate customer service you’ve got a price that’s a little bit above market let’s say the average competitors around 22 23 dollars maybe even 20 bucks your referral percentage is ten percent ten percent of the customers that you get are referring other people so referral sales over this period or a thousand so total sales are 11,000 actually until you know 164 thousand dollars in sales 164 thousand dollars in sales now let’s take another example trying to maximize value per customer say you still make a profit at $19.95 your cost fifty knowledge of profit per unit is four dollars and ninety-five cents you’re not losing money you’re not going out of business you’re just trying to bring your price in line with the market or maybe even give people a little bit better value sales per month because you’re now a better deal than what’s in the market maybe you’re doing 30,000 these are made up numbers you can argue them how ever you want just walk in through an example so you realize what I’m talking about sales per month 30,000 referral percentage fifteen percent because people have a great product you have great customers great customer service and now you’re delivering even more value because you have a price that people are very very happy with so they don’t have to feel guilty about referring friends and family now they feel encouraged to do it because they get a great product great service and you’re at a great price so number of referral sales 4,500 total profit per month 170 thousand dollars and 775 dollars so it’s not that much more that’s not the point it’s about the same what happens though is you get more customers and referrals which give you a compound effect if every customer starts referring somebody else and you get more customers pretty soon you’re going to have an exploding business you get more volume which means not only not are you going to happen you can improve your margin not by ratcheting up your price but by ratcheting down your cost if you do if you’re the highest volume seller in your market you can get better pricing from suppliers or you can become the supplier if you want to go up supply chain you get more exposure which means free marketing because you’re reaching more people they’re telling more people and that sort of compounds into more and more business for you and you’re also getting happier customers because you’re getting a better price they’re not so concerned if they’re getting ripped off they’re not so concerned if something goes wrong or something is a day late which means less returns and customer service problems which means less headache on your business which may ultimately mean you have better profit even if you’re making less profit on the product because you have less expenses to run your business and more customers also means you have a bigger audience so this is kind of what Jeff Bezos was talking about which means you can launch new products they launched Kindle pretty much an overnight success they launched all kinds of other products because they have hundreds of millions of customers they can release products and do extremely well that means also more reviews than anybody else and more feedback grabbing a drink of water so number four grow through efficiency Walmart will close 269 stores this year affecting sixteen thousand workers this is actually from not that long ago January 15 2016 closing 269 stores not a very efficient business from the definition that i’m going to give you they’ve done all kinds of things to implement technology and supply chain and their costs are very low but overall they’re not really adapting to the internet so Walmart is closing 269 stores affecting sixteen thousand workers let’s compare that to another business amazon breaks sales records and is the go to store for holiday shoppers i didn’t fight us myself and my dad was actually telling me he saw it in the local newspaper something they like they got 51 percent of all of the online sales in the US in the holiday season absolutely insane Walmart’s shutting down stores Amazon’s breaking sales records because they built a business for the future this is another example Royal Dutch Shell Oil to lay off 2,800 more workers very recent Halliburton internal memo and sources warned up to 20,000 layoffs coming this is from this past September on the other hand here’s a green energy company green gorillas secures two and a half million dollars in start-up capital brand new business receiving money not laying off people they’re going to map start having to hire a lot of new people venture capital funding and solar sector tops 1 billion dollars 2015 global investment in clean energy top three hundred billion dollars these businesses are planning for the future and doing more value to society doing more value to consumers so this is what I mean when I say grow through efficiency build a business that will be around for 10 plus years well how do you do that ask yourself a couple questions will your customers find your products useful in the future if you’re selling some diet supplement like everyone else is that you know doesn’t work that’s not going to be useful in the future if you’re selling some piece of junk electronic product that you know is not the best in the market that you know may not even be around in a year from now much less 10 years from now that may not be the best market to be in will your customers find your product useful in the future or are you just exploiting a short-term loophole are you adding value to the overall market place is the product you’re adding just a product that’s like everyone else’s that’s just maybe a different brand or are you adding value to the overall market place are you delivering customers value and doing something better than what other people are doing consumers there’s millions of them out there and they all want different things and so for any given product there’s probably a need a need that’s not being met and so if you met just that one need you’re adding value to the marketplace if you meet 10 needs at once then you’ll own the marketplace but either way you’re adding value to the marketplace so be honest with yourself are you adding value to the marketplace or are you just trying to make money focus on quality over quantity I’ve seen it time and time again when people start a business they want to go from one product to a thousand products because they see that they may a thousand dollars a month with one product day if I did that with a thousand products I’ll have all kinds of money coming in doesn’t typically end up working like that and you end up losing sight of giving value to consumers if you focus instead on okay what can i how can I do more for consumers can I do more by making the existing product better or can I do more by making maybe one or other product the best in the market because I see a big opportunity for improvement there maybe you can’t improve the product you’re already selling very much but you look for a related product that you know you can make better that’s a better focus for your business a more efficient focus for your business rather than spreading yourself too thin and trying to sell a thousand different products focus your spending on doing more for customers so rather than thinking about how you can create a bare minimum product and make all kinds of money through advertising the best efficiency for your business is to not have to need any advertising it doesn’t mean that you won’t do any it doesn’t mean that you won’t run Facebook ads or do you two of any of that sort of stuff you still may want to do that but that shouldn’t be your primary focus of your business that’s a means to an end that’s to get your product in front of people faster but the experience of when people get your product should already be good they should already want your product they should already want to tell other people about it because it’s that good so focus your spending and think about what you’re spending for every expense you make in your business think about it isn’t adding more value for customers maybe you go all the way the extreme of Tesla and you are spending everything on product they kind of had an advantage where they started off with millions of dollars and received lots of more money in funding and so they don’t necessarily have to advertise to reach anybody because they’re able to do that but maybe you don’t go to that extreme but maybe seventy percent of the money you spend is on making a better product and thirty percent is to get the word out so people know you exist the more you spend the more you focus on doing more for customers the better long-term prospects your business has and listen to your customers ask them what they wanted value either read reviews of other people’s products or survey your customers ask them how you can improve ask them what else you could do more ask them why they’re buying other products from other people the more you stay in touch with your customers and find out what they want the more you can add value and the better your business becomes and reduce waste this is something you should always be focusing on so if you’re doing things that don’t matter if you’re spending money on things that don’t matter anyway you can reduce waste and focus on things that aren’t adding value to consumers like Amazon for example they’re worth billions and billions and billions of dollars but they still focus on reducing waste in their company as much as possible even their sort of famous for working on desks made out of refurbished doors because it saved them money for buying desk and now it’s sort of symbolic but they’re famous for that even though they have billions of dollars at their disposal but that gets a mind set inside of their employees and allows them on to some extent be able to take all of that money and funnel it in to doing more for customers the less money you waste the more money you can spend delivering more value for customers principle number three referrals are everything this is all it really takes a great product press reasonable pricing will generate referrals people will tell people about it because they’ll be using your product because it’s a great product and it’ll be better than what other people are using so they’re naturally going to tell people to get your product instead of somebody else’s so how did generate referrals first create a great product this is sounding like a broken record at this point I realize but it’s something that I think has to change in the marketplace create a great product give people what they want offer great customer service remember I said the main two things to focus on great product great customer service that’s what people value offer reasonable pricing I’m not asking you to lose money I’m not asking you to make nothing I’m just asking you to consider what is reasonable am I trying to gouge people um and and and just to generate more revenue for my business or am i delivering value for people and being compensated for that you know for example you could say some pharmaceutical products are grossly overpriced which some of them are but to some extent they have to spend x billions of dollars on research to develop those products so they deserve to make some money because otherwise we’ll be out of business but they’re still within reason so this is not some formula for what’s reasonable pricing you just have to keep yourself honest are you trying to gouge people or are you trying to deliver value in the marketplace so then fourth continually improve your products and services you can’t stagnate the markets always changing there’s always more things you can do to improve your products so these sort of lay the foundation great product great customer service reasonable pricing continually improve your product and service number five create a referral incentive that’s kind of the easy part once you’ve done the other thing is people will naturally want to refer your products you’re just adding fuel to the fire but giving them an incentive to do it so they’re likely going to do it naturally but you might as well encourage them to do it even more by giving them an incentive so how paypal achieved a seven to ten percent daily growth in the early 2000s new customers got ten dollars for signing up and existing ones got ten dollars for referrals growth went exponential this resulted in seven to ten percent daily growth seven to ten percent daily growth and a hundred million users this is how Facebook achieved seven to ten percent daily growth in the early 2000s and I believe was bought for about one and a half billion dollars and now it’s much much bigger this is an example of a referral program so you can write this one down you can do research later but I’m giving you a few examples of how referral programs to work you could sit there and think all I don’t know how to work how what are some examples it’s not that complicated but here are a few examples so here’s Dropbox get up to 16 gigabytes free space by inviting your friends to drop by I know when I first signed up for dropbox I invited a handful of people myself and I don’t you know they it was just because it was sitting there and it was an easy thing and I needed them to use it anyway so they needed them to open a file i had or share it with people i was working with and so that was their referral incentive you got up to 16 gigabytes free space by inviting to dropbox and now here’s here’s a from 2015 dropbox now has more than 400 million registered users how’s that for growth 400 million registered users a lot of that came through their referral program and here’s Airbnb which you may be familiar with invite your friends get a hundred dollar travel credit and here’s another one uber give 10 and get 10 send out your code your friend takes a ride you both get ten bucks that’s somehow pretty simple and they have a little code for doing it there’s software out there will help facilitate this for you so number two stakeholders not enemies so whole foods which some of you are likely familiar with depending on where you’re located it’s a sort of premium grocery store brand that sells a lot of health foods based actually their headquarters here in Austin so they’re very big on full stakeholders they consider their community stakeholders their employees stakeholders their customer stakeholders their vendor stakeholders and what that means is they’re not sitting there trying to get the best pricing from suppliers or try to push suppliers as much as possible they are trying to treat their entire ecosphere as as people that they want to take care of so they are negotiating back and forth to their suppliers they’re sitting there setting up farms down in South America due to get more responsibly grown food and coffee and all that sort of good stuff and in an example of this is back in when they first started they didn’t have any insurance when they first built their first grocery store it was some extent built by a couple hippies do you have any insurance and so they their first store ended up having a big disaster I camera froze a flutter of fire but as one of the two and the stores basically wiped out the entire community of customers and employees pitched in to rebuild the store that was because they focused on taking care of employees focused on taking care of their local community and they were able to get back on their feet and now 2014 sales 14 point two billion dollars the other people you’re doing business with even your competitors don’t have to be your enemies they’re just other people out there in the world trying to build businesses to do good things for people or at least hopefully they are so this is why you want to think about stakeholders not enemies going forward so first off your suppliers you know I learned this from some of our customers kind of the hard way if I used to think that like I you just forget suppliers to try to get the best pricing for multiple ones we’ve had people and members that have done extremely well by not trying to do that by trying to buy trying to build relationships with supplies we’ve had people that brought suppliers to our live events because they were so excited about their business we’ve had people that have had suppliers come stay at their house in the US the flyers from China because they built that kind of relationship now if you need better terms if you need faster delivery who do you think that supplier is going to listen to the person who treats them like crap and tries to get better pricing at every single month or the person who treats them like a real person the person who treats them like a real stakeholder in their business and tries to build a long-term relationship I mean the answer is pretty obvious platforms amazon amazon can be very difficult to deal with but you have to think about them as a stakeholder in your business what do they really want they want good customer service they want better products they want a good experience for customers you deliver them that you won’t have ninety-nine percent of the problems people experience they are another stakeholder in your business customers are a stakeholder we’ve talked about this a lot you’re not there to rip customers off or maximize the amount of money you can suck out of them you’re there to deliver lots of value for a reasonable price employees or stakeholders doesn’t matter if they’re overseas you have a few outsource workers or designer doesn’t matter if they’re local doesn’t matter if they’re your family members their stakeholders in your business you have to think about their needs what they want and if you’re able to deliver that to them then they will be happy they will stick around and they will keep adding value to your business and your customers vendors doesn’t matter if it’s a weber if it’s google or any of those platforms i learned this also the hard way used to try to do all kinds of pushy things and you know got accounts banned from you know google adwords from Aweber even from MailChimp and all those kind of things they’re trying to push the boundaries and do stuff that was kind of hurting their business on a very small scale because if you’re sending out emails that they don’t want you to send it can hurt their deliverability which hurts everyone else and all kinds of things they just pin to a platform you’re talking about but if you think about their needs and what they actually want is a business you can build good long-term relationships you don’t have to sitting there setting up new email accounts or chasing new ad platforms or doing any of that sort of tricky stuff and it really slows down your business competitors like I said the more you go after and sort of try to bash other competitors which most people don’t do but I have seen people do bashing competitors and that makes them do that to you in the unova leghul battles and all kinds of stuff that ends up just wasting everyone’s time making nobody any money other than attorneys but if you treat them as stakeholders they’re sitting there trying to deliver their own piece of value you’re sitting here trying to deliver your own piece of value that it creates a much more stable environment and really people sort of stay out of their own way you’re not sitting there wasting time on things that don’t add value to customers and the community so depending on what community you’re operating or if it’s a local community if it’s an online community how can you add value to them to help help them out which in turn will end up helping yourself out so number one the final principle of the nine principles of the internet business of the future principle number one these aren’t necessarily in order money is everywhere so here’s an example this is a site called kick starter most of you all probably familiar with if you’re not it’s a crowdfunding site which means people go on here and there’s trying to start a business typically and they allow other people to sort of help them fund their business so here is potato salad here’s what i mean when money is everywhere this guy says zach danger sort of sitting there and they’re trying to build a business that sort of disrupts old banking so there’s a lot of them that are being very aggressive with how much they’ll loan out the loan and out to what sort of terms because in a bank typically you have to have two years of history with these companies a lot of time that’s not the case and here’s something new that’s just popped up that it’s called the regulation a so regulation a allows companies often sell securities to the public but with more limited disclosure requirements and you would currently expect from public reporting so this is basically allowing you to do your own crowdfunding for your business you can sell chunks of your business to the public and raise money that way up to 50 million dollars i believe so how to apply the nine principles number nine build a better product you haven’t writing these down so far I would write these down now number nine build a better product number eight look at what people want and give it to them number seven mark it honestly number six serve customers number five maximize value not revenue per customer number four seeks seek efficiency and grow number three build a referral program number to nurture stakeholders don’t create enemies and number one get money if you need it I’m gonna ask you to go out there and raise money if you don’t need it you don’t need it maybe don’t go through the hassle it’s everywhere even for a potato salad this guy’s making potato salad phrases fifty-five thousand dollars so if you think that money is the reason you can’t grow to where you want to go that’s not the case so we’ll try to get these slides out to you but write these down as quickly as possible build a better product look at what people want market honestly serve customers maximize value seek efficiency build a referral program nurture stakeholders get money if needed the nine principles of the internet business of the future so now let’s talk about that last point what if you don’t want to try to raise money from other people what if you’d like to just make your own money and fund your own business what i’m about to share with you has to be the easiest way I’ve ever seen to make money I was actually checking it out um this weekend we’ll talk about that but it’s absolutely insane the person I learned this from did over a million dollars in sales and 12 months doing this with no product no website and no brand so here’s a product that I’d like you to check out so you may not be able to see it but this is a product on the disney store sold right now in their clearance section for eleven dollars and ninety-nine cents eleven dollars and ninety-nine cents if we go to the same product look it up on amazon right now you’ll see that the same exact product just sold for twenty six dollars and ninety-nine cents so eleven dollars and ninety-nine cents on the disney store twenty-six dollars and ninety-nine cents sold on amazon right now so let’s show you the calculation for that purchase price eleven dollars 99 cents selling price 26 dot ninety-nine cents if i look up in google FBA calculator and run that calculation amazon FBA fees or six dollars and seventy nine cents giving you a profit of eight dollars and 21 cents for every single unit you sell buy them for eleven dollars and ninety-nine cents sell them on amazon all the rest of these eight dollars and 21 cents profit per unit 8 and 21 cents my cell 10 units that’s 82 dollars if i sell 20 units that’s 164 dollars if i sell 50 units that’s four hundred and ten dollars and pretty much free money you can apply this strategy on thousands of products right now it’s called retail arbitrage you’re capitalizing on mispricing in the market arbitrage has been around for centuries at this point people actually used to do it in the oil markets and buying and selling oil barrels of oil and they’ve done in just about every of the market you could imagine arbitrage is something that is listed as long as people have been buying and selling stuff and you can start with as little as a hundred dollars or less of your thinking you know I don’t have a lot of money to invest an inventory or maybe you want to join ASM but you didn’t have the money to join ASM and you try to find a way to make more money or maybe you’re in ASM right now and you’re thinking I need to make more money for inventory or my business is taking off too slow and I need a way to speed that up you could start this with this hundred dollars or less it literally takes nothing I say a hundred dollars but you could buy one of those products for eleven dollars and ninety-nine cents and that would get you in the game from there but I’m just saying a hundred dollars is kind of like a general benchmark so going further get a list of 100 plus websites to find products the guy I’m talking about that in a million dollars and 12 months is put together a list of a hundred press website you just type them in and you can go find products that you can resell immediately for a profit you can discover how to find out how many units to buy because you don’t want to sit there and buy 50 units when the thing only sell four or five a month he’s got a method for figuring out how many units to buy you can learn the strategy to figure out if the price is real meaning that if the price was just discounted like you don’t want that to go into your profit calculation or if it was just increased and it really always sells for less because then you may sell it yourself and you may end up actually losing money if you don’t do it right so he’s got a strategy of figuring out if the price is real are you to learn the ideal profit margin percentage you’re not wasting your time it discovered how to scale to a hundred thousand dollars plus per month like I said he’s done a million dollars in 12 months doing this and you can use this cash to generate you generate to buy inventory or as a whole new business if you want remember the guy like I said they did a million dollars in a single year doing retail arbitrage well I convinced them to create a course to teach you everything from how to get set up what websites to seller account you could do this with an existing amazon seller account i’m not saying this opportunity is going to last forever because eventually if there’s enough people doing this then maybe the sort of profit margins aren’t aren’t there but it’s there right now because nobody else really knows how to do this stuff in fact i just follow the simple strategy this past sunday afternoon and here’s a screenshot from an order that I placed this order told $175 and nineteen cents followed his exact strategy profit on this is a hundred and seventy two dollars and 41 so it’s basically doubling my money doubling my money hundred seventy dollars and forty-one since following his exact strategy and can do this as many times you want this is about half an hour spent that day so that’s about doing physical retail arbitrage primarily so that’s literally going this local stores in your local town finding products you can actually scan them on your phone finding products that are mispriced there and you’re buying them and you’re reselling them on Amazon so the person who’s teaching that course she says she can go into any store any day of the week and pick up about not any store but she can go into the stores that she knows works can pick up about five hundred dollars worth of profit any day of the week pretty much so that’s a physical retail arbitrage what’s in there question Jeff so I’m glad you’re thinking about that Justin says how long do you think it’ll take in days to make money if I go through the course in full and implement it instantly like I said so I was on Sunday afternoon I spent about an hour so going through a chunk of the course and then about half an hour actually implementing and finding a product that met all the criteria and doing his whole spreadsheet thing and doing all the other steps that he recommends take about half an hour so I found the product and so typically like it would take a couple days to get shipped to you then you sort of have to ship it Amazon’s there’s another couple days and so then it could be selling like I said within like seven days depending on how how quickly you turn things around and fast and shipping and stuff but I would say to be safe I would say no more than two weeks if you move quickly you pick a product you get it turning around and so you get this moving this business moving pretty quickly even on doing the online retail arbitrage so it’s one of the quickest way like i said quickest and easiest ways to make money i’ve ever seen it’s absolutely insane that this that this works but it’s amin it makes sense because you’ve got these big retailers that are trying to dump products because they you know i bought too many other they made too many and the people on amazon that are running around buying those products they have no idea those deals exist so they’re just on amazon buying the product normal price the retailer is probably dumping them at a loss and so there is your sort of a profit potential let’s see yep so nicole already talked about that hopefully we’ll have a referral program later so just do me a quick favor uh what i would like you to do so uh Caskey how do you win the x box so that’s all included in the retail arbitrage course big discussions right now but he talks about Peggy’s got entire lessons on that and so you know a big reason why you would want to do this now as opposed to waiting is that you know the retail arbiter of course is in there so if you’re looking to find a way to fund inventory you’re looking to find easy opportunities you can literally just go down his list of websites you can start picking out opportunities right now because nobody else has access to this course nobody else is in there yet it just got live today after just dead simple and there’s there’s nobody else out there that has this there’s no really good course on retail arbitrage and this is coming from people that have done this for years and have made hundreds of thousands of dollars doing it so it’s a very unique opportunity and it’s available right now so that’s why if you’re going to do it i would jump in and get access and start implementing to be our bare bare minimum is one new course a month we hope to far exceed that but the bare minimum right now is one course a month let’s see so if you have any questions about the retail arbitrage course specifically what I recommend because I’m not the world’s greatest expert in retail arbitrage I just I mean I’ve been talking with people about it for about six months now but I just actually implemented some of it this past weekend so a lot of the more technical stuff I may not know so what I recommend is jumping into the seven day trial the membership ask questions in the community I go through as much of the training as you can get through and that’ll probably answer a lot of your questions Craig that’s an interesting question you bring up sees that I’d like to see a mini course and how to best set up business buying from China and selling on Amazon we are actually working on that I don’t want to keep promising all this stuff and so this one is let’s say a maybe we were working on a course by a guy who does a lot of freight forwarding and it’s been sourcing products for companies like Walmart from China for a long time and is and is also sourced for people on a much smaller level so he has that experience we are looking to get a course created with him on how to do a very sort of in-depth look at sourcing products from China beyond even what what ASM goes into um let’s see I have registered where can I find the course if you don’t see it in there definitely contact support um cool so a lot of people like the idea of a sourcing course that’s good to know so questions people just saying thank you people of the idea retail arbitrage people telling me they’ve registered so that’s awesome yep so sorry so some people are saying they didn’t get a response to the question but it’s hard for me to even find the question go to webinar is not great about that so once again not intentionally ignoring anybody’s question just try and answer the ones that are duplicates but there are like I said six hundred and sixty people on here and I feel like half the people of answered ten questions so asking questions so it’s kind of hard to find some of them so here’s a good question so paul asked what other expenses are needed to start making money using this course really um if I think about it really none you don’t need a website so it’s not you have to buy hosting or any of that kind of stuff you don’t even need to set up a business that once again talk to your lawyer and accountant but you don’t really need one just get started with this you uh you’re not building branding or packaging so you don’t need any of that kind of stuff even on the marketing side you’re not really doing any marketing because you’re looking at products that are already sold on Amazon and you’re just competing with them for their own listing at a comparable pricing and so you’re competing for what’s called the x box so there’s not really a marketing involved and so and then the tools that he recommends using the ones that I’ve seen so far they’re free they’re two different plugins two different google chrome plugins and both of them are our one of us a google chrome plugin the other one’s a website and they’re both completely free one you register for your account at but they’re both completely free so it’s really nothing else I mean that’s that’s the nature of this thing it’s not one of these things that you know you’re going to spend you know five thousand dollars on inventory and have to go you know do all kinds of crazy stuff it’s a business you literally start with nothing and that’s kind of why I was so excited about it cuz I know a lot of people wanted to start selling on Amazon but they couldn’t afford money for inventory or they get inside ASM and they realize they don’t have the money for inventory don’t want to spend the money on inventory and so that’s a big reason why I got so excited about this until I knew the crazy numbers behind it dude a million dollars in a year um that’s what I saw much bigger opportunity but if nothing else it’s a way to sort of make cash without having to spend hardly anything let’s see uh Oprah masks are there any upsells nope you sign up for the membership like anybody else here can tell you there are no episodes you could take it i believe directly to a Thank You page and then an email so there are no upsells when you sign up for the membership alright cool so uh things are kind of winding down here so if you have any questions you have if you have technical issues or any of that kind of stuff please contact our support department they can sort this out for you I recommend going going to amazing calm / now getting access to the free trial of the amazing calm membership commitment so there’s really nothing to wait for you really have everything to gain by joining as quickly as possible because you can jump in there with courses like retail arbitrage or even the other ones and start getting value from immediately and they all follow the same kind of format that we’re kind of known for videos that are anywhere from three to ten minutes in length very actionable very focused you’re not going to go through a whole module of stuff just learning and then feeling tired at the end of the thing you’re going to be implementing and getting value in your business
