Our Work At Home Blog Tutorial Post Featuring 5 Reasons Working from Home SUCKS!
The draft copy of the transcoded video text is posted underneath 5 Reasons Working from Home SUCKS!, To Highlight the video's Blueprint in your analysis of the Work At Home sector
when you’re getting up at 6am, to catch an hour long train commute to work every day, the thought of working from home can seem like a heavenly prospect.
No commutes, no early mornings to make time for those commutes, no uniforms – not even having to leave the house. These are exactly the kind of thoughts that were running through my mind, when I was commuting to work in Cardiff every day, but for the past few months now, I’ve been living life on the other side of that coin, working mainly from home, doing freelance work, and as you might expect from the title of this video, that hasn’t been all plain sailing either.
So here’s a couple reasons why working from home actually sucks the first reason it sucks it’s because of the loneliness of it all everyone who works from home deals with feelings of isolation and loneliness from time to time and that includes me despite the fact that I consider myself to be extremely introverted it’s not so much when you’re working that you feel the loneliness it’s actually the moments in between working like when you’re working at an office you can decide to dress take a break go make a coffee and chat with your colleagues for a bit it’s a nice sociable distraction every now and then but when you’re working from home you no longer have the ability to do that there’s no one around to talk to and that’s why when you’re working from home it’s essential that you try and make sure to get out the house at least once everyday whether it’s walking the dog go into the gym or just meeting up with friends just make sure you do something to get up a house and avoid feeling cabin fever from being stuck in all day another reason it sucks is because of the motivation that it requires when you’re working for someone else it seems like the only thing that can get you out of bed some mornings is the imminent fear of getting sacked if you’re late but when you’re working from home the threat is gone and so it’s up to you to find the motivation to get up and get out of bed in the mornings and this can be tough at times if you have poor self discipline you should think carefully about how you’re going to ensure that you do work as many hours as you would in a regular office job for me personally I found that the best way to keep motivated is to write a schedule of all the things that you need to do each day and then make a habit of religiously stick into that schedule no matter what the busier you made yourself the better because you’re less likely to sleep in until 10am when you know that you have eight scheduled hours of work to do which when taking into account things like lunch breaks means that you wouldn’t be finished until at least 7 p.m. in the evening at number 3 we have all the distractions that you’re going to face part of the appeal of working from home is that you get to avoid a lot of the distraction so you get in the workplace like there’s nobody to bother you about the latest gossip in the office when you’re trying to Norma something important but working from home actually brings its own distractions to think of every single time that the phone rings the postman knocks the door the dog has to be fed and let outside to we and a whole host of other minor tasks that kind of get in your way throughout the day and in my experience if other people are in the house at the same time as you you’re not thought of as working in the same way that you would be if you were away from the house people will happily walk into your office and try chatting to you about idle stir for asking you for something then factoring the rest of your responsibilities and I can feel like working from home carries just as many if not more distractions then just working in a standard office job another problem that you’ll have to contend with is feeling like you’re just never switching off when you work in a regular job you clock off at the end of the day and that’s that you have a clear idea in your mind about when workers work and when leisure time is leisure time but when you work from home the lines between work and leisure begin to blur quite often people who work from home will be working in the same room that they sleep in at night and in the same way that you probably find it really weird to completely relax in your office at work it can be difficult to completely relax at home when you’ve been working there all day and this is especially true and there’s paperwork and to-do list everywhere the final reason why working from home stacks is because of the effect that it can have on your social life people will have to make new friends and form new relationships while they’re at work plans for weekends are often arranged at work to you no longer have the opportunity to do these things when you work from home because you have no colleagues to work with therefore when you work in from home it’s essential that you keep some kind of social life intact you need to make an effort to keep in touch with friends or by making an effort to be sociable during weekday evenings and weekends by going out and meeting new people otherwise you risk permanently losing out on a social life with all the loneliness and isolation that I mentioned at the start of this video so that’s what I have to say about why working from home sex what are your thoughts as always please let me know in the comment section down below and if you want to see more from me in the future make sure you subscribe as well thanks for watching and I’ll be back with another video again tomorrow Cheers
