today’s videos for Martin and Martin sent me a couple of questions in response to my last video about drop shipping and I thought I’d actually turn this into a little drop shipping series right because I’m I launched this project around two and a half three weeks ago now and ever since talking about this and posting my weekly blog I’ve been getting so many questions and then from different people so I thought why not create a little mini series about drop shipping where I answer all your questions so it’s like a mini Q&A series within this bigger Q&A series so I’m going to start with these questions from Martin and he actually has a couple of questions and I’m going to try and answer all your questions Martin in this video welcome to the tail waddle a show where I show you how to create the freedom and lifestyle you truly desire by thinking outside the box working smart and becoming the best version of yourself tune in every day and get real-life strategies to grow your own business hack your life and get more done in less time subscribe to the show and add tilba dello on snapchat is there anything on your Shopify store regarding delivery and how toward it strategically to take into account a 15 to 60 day period so Martin what you have to do is you have to be very transparent about the delivery because one of the mistakes I made in the early stages of my Shopify business I was trying to hide the delivery costs well the shipping cost and the time so I try to you know on the product page and on the ad that I used I try to hide the fact that there was a longer delivery time and also try to hide the actual shipping costs so I actually charge around let me see eight thirty something like that dollars for shipping and that’s kind of high depends you know who you’re targeting some people might think it’s high others might think it’s low but for my market people thought it was high so I was trying to hide the shipping costs for very long and then I got lots of nasty comments under my Facebook ad because people you know people they checked out they added the item to their cart and at the very end they saw the shipping costs and they were annoyed somehow maybe they expected something else they had different expectations and when they saw the shipping costs they got very angry and I had lots of nasty comments on my Facebook and where I was just deleting comments while hiding comments you know checking three four times a day and sometimes being scared to look at my facebook app because I was getting so many nasty comments and it was a very simple you know fix all I had to do is be transparent about the shipping cost and about the delivery time on the product page so on the actual product page make sure you add the shipping costs if you’re doing a free plus shipping offer this is that’s what I do I have a free plus shipping offer so the product is free there’s a zero in front of the product and then the shipping costs or something like eight fifty or eight thirty dollars so so that’s why I needed to be transparent about the shipping costs so add as much information as you can on the product you know detail page so when people actually click on the ad and they look at the product before they start checking out you want to give them as much information as possible you want to set up the right expectations right from the get-go to avoid you know unpleasant surprises when once people have ordered so you want to be very clear about how long it takes to deliver and you want to be very clear about all the costs don’t try and hide any hidden costs and stuff like that be upfront be transparent people will people will approve much more of that you will get less complaints less nasty comments and it’s you know you will sleep better at night as well so that’s the first thing and also what you want to do is you want to look for suppliers that have better shipping time so if you go on Aliexpress for example you will find different suppliers with different shipping times different shipping delivery methods if you if you actually deliver to the u.s. you want to look for a pack and they usually have pretty you know short delivery times if you’re targeting people in other countries then you’re going to check every supplier some suppliers of you know DHL global which cost a bit extra but they deliver in five to twelve days which is pretty cool so you’re going to be transparent about it but also look for suppliers and look for delivery options within different suppliers and products that are short so you can keep the customer as happy as possible that’s pretty much it so second question how do you handle returns I’ve no fucking I’ve never gonna return I just put my business address in the terms and conditions and you know I pop it I think Shopify standard terms and conditions thing I just have my business address there I have no idea what happens if I get a return you know I’ll deal with it if that should happen in the future and I will figure it out so next question what about contact details physical address and telephone number well yeah you’re gonna add this if you’re a legit business you have to add this like there’s like legal requirements for you to add this I’d have a Swiss business and 100% sure but I think by law I need to have like a website notice on my website with clear contact information you can’t hide this stuff right there spam rules there’s legal you know there’s laws in every country that determine what do you have to add on a website on a store or in an email so you’re going to check with your loss but if you if you want to skip the checking just make sure you add everything thus be transparent don’t hide add your telephone number and your address your business address if you don’t have a business you have to add your private address I’m guessing um yeah and make it easy and transparent for people to see who’s the sender who runs this store because otherwise you might run into trouble so this is something you just have to get comfortable with right making yourself vulnerable so if people actually hate your store or your product you are vulnerable they can send you you know mail emails it’s all there your address or telephone number your email address and you can’t hide you can’t hide as an entrepreneur man you’re not a scammer you’re not a hoax if you want to be on the real solid long-term business you have to be comfortable you know setting something up that you can that you can put your name on and if you can’t do that probably you shouldn’t be in business or you should somehow change the way you you operate your business if you can’t sleep at night or you can’t put your address and name and telephone number and email address on your business you’re doing something wrong so next question what about customer support chat functionality um well the thing is once you scale up your store your customer support also some skill up so the more sales you get the more requests to get people asking where is my delivery where’s my shipment I ordered you know 15 days ago it didn’t arrive or people asking for refunds or PayPal claims you will get all that stuff in the beginning just handle it yourself doesn’t take that much time okay even to make let’s say three hundred dollars a day the customer support you will get from a $300 a day store is not that much you can handle that in half an hour a day you know half an hour to one hour a day maximum you can handle this type of customer support and you will be making $300 a day if you scale up more and you start to make like thousands of dollars a day um you know you want to hire a freelancer on up work someone who can take care of this for you then you can start also using technology for that like you can you can install help desk software so if people send an email to your support email they get an automatic response from the help desk software telling them ticket to receive and you have a ticket system for every email that comes in so some of you know one of your freelancers or virtual assistants can actually follow up with that ticket to the customer support etc etc you know how this works from placing your own orders online so that’s pretty much it I wouldn’t recommend having a chat on the actual checkout page um you know one of those there’s these chat things you can actually you’re fewer store I wouldn’t recommend it because most people will buy on a mobile phone and usually those chat bars tick take up a lot of place on mobile and it could be that people click on there and it’s just distracting and there’s better things better ways better plugins to use that space rather than the support thing so you know I haven’t test I haven’t split tested this unfortunately so this is just what I believe um but um I do believe in this case because of the mobile phone because of most traffic in my experience and most sales coming from mobile it’ll probably suppress conversions rather than increase them so I wouldn’t have a chat thing a chat widget on the product page just have this app on the website you know and about Us section or a contact section with an email where people where people can email you and that should be fun right you want to reduce the opportunities for people to contact you anyway right you don’t want to have like millions of chat messages and emails anyway so putting it up there prominently might actually backfire because you’ll get more requests in might distract from the actual sale so you know a lot of reasons why I wouldn’t advise using a chat widget on the product or checkout page so last question do you drive Facebook traffic straight to your Shopify store or first to a landing page easy answer directly to your Shopify store direct it to the product page you want to minimize the friction reuse all the friction and you know make it unit set it up so your visitors can choose the path of least resistance meaning you set up Facebook and you don’t hide anything you don’t try and use some crazy trick you want to have your offer already in the Facebook ad so you want to say something like you know for a short time only um we’re giving you this free bracelet or free sunglasses all you have to do is you know pay for shipping and handling and then you have a picture or one of those carousel ads with different shots of the product with some copy and people can click on the picture or on the link there’s different philosophies and different methods of setting up Facebook Ads for Shopify but basically people click on the link or on the picture and they’re taking directly to the product page and then you optimize the product page for conversions um you want to have a countdown timer or something like that you know you scarcity you social proof reuse and anything that can minimize distractions and bounce rate and increase conversions and Add to Cart Add to Cart add to cart conversions that’s going to help you so that’s pretty much it Martin I hope this answered all your questions and I’m going to shoot some more videos on this whole dropshipping topic and I help I hope this helped everyone who is interested in this whole dropshipping stuff
