as an online entrepreneur I have multiple streams of income coming in which is ideal right but it makes coffee table and dinner table conversation really awkward when someone says what do you do and I tell them what I do and then they say oh how does that make money and I have to list off about thirty thousand million things that I do to make money so today on this video I’m going to tell you guys how at this point in my business how I’m making money and how it’s changed throughout the years hello and welcome back to my channel I am so excited you’re here and I hope you’ll stick around and check out all the other videos I have here on this channel for you to help you get video in your business so your business can just be better I’ve started my business in 2010 well I started what I consider my first legitimate business in 2010 before that I had been freelancing and I had a photography business and a couple of different irons in the fire but I started my first real quote/unquote business in 2010 now that business started because I wanted to create a blog I was a new mom and I wanted to create a blog because all the other moms were doing it and I didn’t want an ugly blog because I was a designer by trade and so I taught myself WordPress and I learned how to design my own site and from there people started asking me to design their sites for them so it turned into a business where I was designing websites and blogs for other people whether it was small businesses or bloggers or whatever now my business has morphed quite a bit since then and I continued on this web design train for about five years and even had a small stint as a personal trainer somewhere in there but today as of this day in 2017 my business makes money in a multitude of ways so I dropped the web design business a couple years ago and officially stopped making money from web design altogether and don’t do that at all anymore which I love I’m so glad I’m out of that business I never really had a true passion for it and I hate to admit this now but I was good and I did it but it wasn’t something I just loved and I really do think that there’s power to loving what you do so in 2015 I launched I co launched a podcast called all up in your lady business with my friend and business partner Jacqueline Malone Jacqueline and I run separate businesses outside of the podcast but we launched the podcast in 2015 and at this current point it is an income generating podcast we do make quite a bit of money off of it a month so it is one of my streams of income and we make money on the podcast if you’re wondering by using sponsors in affiliates in 2016 while I still had my web design business I created and sold my first course which was a course on how to DIY your website with WordPress and it was it went great the launch went amazingly well and I was able to make a couple thousand dollars off of this course that I never thought I could sell so from Erath kind of hooked and from 2016 through most of 2017 my entire income was from course creation and selling of these online courses whether it was teaching someone how to do convertkit or their website or using another system Facebook Ads whatever I’ve sold a course on it so that’s what I have done for the majority of 2017 and I realized that I number one am good at teaching I didn’t know that before and number two then I really enjoy creating courses it’s not something that scares me it’s not something I put off and I dread like a lot of people do I enjoy it so I do still sell courses now all of my courses are still for sale but in addition to that I have a new membership community called vid flow intial you and it is a membership site where a house a lot of courses on video and YouTube and all the things that that encompasses for entrepreneurs this membership site is $49 a month and I make money because people purchase it and stay in it and it works really well so that’s another stream of my income I also do one on one strategy so I will do consulting for corporations if they’re wanting to really amp up their marketing game or really figure out where their holes are in their marketing game I will help them figure it out and get them a plan to execute I also do one-on-one strategy with other small business owners and online entrepreneurs just like you guys so they will hire me on a month-to-month basis or a one-off call basis and I will help them set in motion the strategy they’re going to use to grow their business so I do still do some one-on-one work but it isn’t much more of the strategy capacity than the actual done-for-you capacity and then another way I make income is affiliates so I generate affiliate income from several different affiliates and they’re all companies I believe in and love and because of my search engine optimization and the amount of traffic that comes to my website my youtube channel and my facebook group every meant I am able to make at least a couple hundred dollars off of philly ‘it’s just because of post i’ve written where i talk about them and then of course the last thing i want to talk about is youtube i do make a slight little tiny bit of income off of youtube but it is something that is growing and growing every single month so i had to include it in this list so if you’ve ever heard the thought that we should have multiple streams of income i completely completely agree i don’t think that means always having to have like multiple businesses but even one business can have multiple streams of income coming in like mine
