what's up guys Josh lock here from the guy to make money online bringing you your daily video now today I'm gonna talk about how to monetize your YouTube and actually how to make a lot of money with YouTube now excuse the mess behind me I'm about to graduate and moving on so I've got a whole bunch of boxes and trash back there so just ignore that but before I get started if you're new here this is called the guy that make money online and as in the name I teach you everything you need to know about how to make money online whether you wanna make a full time income or just the money on the side so if that relates to you please subscribe like this video because I love to have you along for the ride so let's get started alright so there are three main ways to make money on YouTube the most common one and the one really everyone thinks of is ad monetization but the other two ones are affiliate marketing and products now I you do I utilize two of those and I plan on doing products in the future but right now I just do affiliate marketing and Adsense so I'm gonna go through talk about each one and see why it's effective give you the pros and cons and DV cons of each one so let's get started with number one and that is monetization now if you have a YouTube channel you can start monetizing it which means you have ads in front of it at ten thousand views so once you have ten thousand total views you can go over here to your studio dashboard and go over here to channel and once you click on that you will go right here where it says monetization and you would you view monetization settings and there should doesn't have one cuz already have one but if you don't have monetization yeah there should be a little emblem saying a review for monetization and it's taking about two to three days for YouTube to review channels see if it's appropriate most the time it is unless you have a really inappropriate channel so depending what you have you should be able to monetize it and so once you have that you'll have a little icon right here the green dollar sign which means monetization is enabled and so once you do that you can go over here to Video Manager and this YouTube – monetization is a really controversial topic right now because ever since the great ad revolution of all these companies dropping out the ad hasn't been too big of an income stream lately and a lot of people have lost money with it so YouTube tried to fix this they didn't do a really good job but I'm hope they're continued to fix it with this whole green yellow emblem thing so if it's fully monetized which means every playback has I add it's got this green monetized symbol right here on your videos but then if it's got the yellow limited dreaded limited symbol it means it does it part of the time and either does it have the time with ads or doesn't do it as at all now YouTube is really weird about this because it's really it's a computer operated program to judge all these so my YouTube video right here best free traffic source how to get free traffic my video that I made yesterday it has limited ads because it's unsuitable for some advertisers which is completely ridiculous and like make $200 watching YouTube videos while you're not making money both of these are limited ads actually I've got a ton of limited ad videos and it's really decreasing my ad revenue and so for that reason YouTube ad revenue is not the greatest but it's something you want to have because it's just some extra on the side while you're making some affiliate income which I'm going to talk about next and so depending on what your videos look like you can go to analytics and once it pulls up you can go over here to see your estimated revenues on the past 21 28 days I made $21 so as you can see it's not that great of an income source but it is a little extra and so once you have this in place you'll use Google AdWords to pay out and then you can pay out once you reach $100 so I'm gonna leave it at that I don't want to spend too long on one because I still got two more to talk about if you have any questions about the Google Adwords or the ad system on YouTube hit me up the comments and I can make a video specifically on it if you want so let's move on to number two so number two is affiliate marketing and on this video I use affiliate marketing for most of my videos because it's a good way to make some extra money and you make more money than just straight ads so on this one specifically I've got an example pulled up one of my videos get free stock with Robin Hood it's all about the Robin Hood stock trading app and whenever you click this link down here this is my affiliate link for Robin Hood you get free stock and I get free stock and so whenever someone watches this video then or may not click an ad but they may or may not click this affiliate income link which is way more profitable than the Google Adwords so one way to really utilize affiliate marketing on YouTube is make a video or find an affiliate link or affiliate program that relates to a video making like this one specifically Robinhood so obviously I'd put the Robin Hood affiliate link on there and so whenever someone clicks on it I can make more income than as you can see I made 10 cents from 70 views which is completely ridiculous and so I would recommend doing affiliate marketing income over at but you can still utilize them both it's a good way to make two sources and the third one I don't actually use I plan to do it in the future its product and so I don't really know how my show that because I would show another channel but then I have to credit the other channel and copyright issue so I'm just going to talk about it leave this leave this page up here so a lot of youtubers they have t-shirts with their slogans like if I have a slogan that I say a lot I don't really have one yet because still a young Channel but if I did Oh like a Roberta Blake he's got one it's create awesome and so he sells t-shirts that say create awesome or stuff that relates to what he says and so people who are fans with him to subscribers they'd be more likely to buy his products because they enjoy him they they're a fan of him so he does a really good job of utilizing products a lot of other youtubers make t-shirts good mythical morning you can buy mugs and so like all these different products relating to your channel if you got like space like a channel or if you got like a niche channel and you sell like skateboard stuff you can sell skateboards that you made if you're like into that or whatever so products are a good way to build your audience build your fan base because people buy stuff that relates to you that they're fans of and this is this is a really advanced technique because you have to have a fan base you have to have products of your own but it is really effective it's probably one of the most profitable ways to make income on youtube so as a recap number one google adwords are recommend you're doing this just to set it going but you won't make a lot of money from it unless you're getting millions of views a day so me I'm still a new channel 500 subscribers about 200 views a day and so I'm making about $1 $2 a day but it's still extra so number 2 is affiliate marketing if you want to do that this is a good way you can really customize each affiliate link to meet the videos it's a cool way to diversify your links and get your stuff out there and the number 3 is products and so that's a more advanced technique once you have a really good name for yourself like after this channel grows to be about a year old I'll probably make some products on my own if I get a really good fan base but who knows we'll see so YouTube is a great source of income for you can actually get a full time income if you want to be youtuber career-wise which I plan to be one day that'd be so cool so much fun but you really have to be smart about where you get your monetization from so use the three ways I'm sure there's a lot more but I'm just gonna talk about those three and I hope this helps you grow some money from your YouTube channel and
