hi everyone its James with Amazon classroom and I want to show you some of the more expensive books that we found this week scouting and really this is the key to making a lot of money on the Amazon Marketplace you want to concentrate on the expensive books you don’t want to buy a lot of cheap books you want to verify that the book that you’re about to purchase is going to sell for a good profit on the Amazon Marketplace before you buy from the thrift store now all three of these books were found in one week’s work at local thrift stores and I’m just going to go through them real quickly this is the CLA law review book purchased at a thrift store for two dollars and I’m going to show you how you verify the value of the book this book I graded as good condition it does have you know it’s obviously a used book it’s not like new so in the thrift store we use our cell phone and this is really the key to verifying that you’re making a good investment okay so you punch in the ISBN number this is the number found on the back of the book most books have an ISBN number if they’re printed beyond the mid-70s so you can just punch it in doesn’t take very long you can use any cell phone and within about five seconds you will get an answer okay so what it tells me and you can’t see that but what it tells me is that this book used in used condition starts at $125 on the Amazon Marketplace you can go up to a hundred and sixty three dollars so this is a very good investment we purchased this for two dollars and it actually sold on Amazon for a hundred and twenty dollars later on not bad next is a geology textbook very common geology textbook but there’s no guarantee what this is worth I mean this could be worth nothing or it could be worth quite a bit how do we do it same thing we locate the ISBN number on the inside of the book and we’re doing this real time just takes me a second so the trick is knowing how to use your cell phone to verify the value and to know the categories of books that are good candidates to be expensive and sure enough this book used starts at fifty five dollars on the Amazon Marketplace it has a high ranking so it’s probably to sell pretty quickly and new it goes brand new and Amazon equals one hundred three dollars so list it in good condition this book sold for $60 and we purchased this for fifty cents at a local thrift store so fifty cents turns into $60 not bad okay the third book this is a beautiful art history book we found at a local thrift store this is a special situation here the book costs twenty-five dollars at the thrift store it’s a bit high but it’s in new condition I mean it’s flawless so that’s quite a big investment so you want to make sure that you verify the value of the book before you invest that money so again we just punch in our ISBN number and just because a book looks new it is big does not mean it’s worth a lot of money so you can’t just kind of think okay big and beautiful it’s expensive because it’s not always true so it’s very important that you verify the value before you make any investment especially a $25 book so this book used starts at $100 on the Amazon Marketplace new sells for five hundred and eighty dollars okay so this is quite defined ranking three hundred ten thousand so it’s a fairly popular book when you have to show you again twenty five dollars and actually it ended up selling on the Amazon Marketplace for a hundred and thirty five dollars so there you go three books found in one week of scouting and you know made several hundred dollars total so it’s that easy you
