everyone its Alisa so today I’m going to talk about how to start your own online business and I’ve actually done a video like this in the past it’s called tips on starting your own business or your own online business so I will try to link that video down below so I hope you guys find this video helpful I’m just going to be answering your questions that you guys asked me on Instagram one of the most asked questions was how do you even get started you first have to figure out what you want to sell sometimes I still probably be creations but I mostly sell duct tape wallets fabric hair bows just things like that so if you want to start your own duct tape business or if you like to make hair bows it just whatever you like to make or anything you want to sell then just to make a whole bunch of that you have to have a lot of inventory and then just post it on like a store MB shop or a Etsy shop or you can make an Instagram account just for that if you don’t want to deal with storm your Etsy and you could even do craft fairs like I do just look them up in your area another one of the most asked questions is do you need a PayPal or credit card to start one so it really depends and I know I’m going to say this a lot in this video so sorry if that’s annoying but it depends on really what business you want to start some people have Instagram shops like I said you could just set up an Instagram account and then it’s totally free by the way and then you can just start posting um things that you have for sale you could make a PayPal account and say comment your PayPal if you are interested in buying and then you can send an invoice to that person or to their paypal email and then it’s a simple dad they can just pay the PayPal invoice instantly and then you have your money and then you can ship at their package so you can do it that way or you could accept cash through the mail a lot of people do that there’s lots of BOE accounts on Instagram and other accounts that I follow that accept cash through the mail and that’s the only payment that they accept most people accept paypal but if you don’t have a PayPal account or a credit card and that can be a little tricky but I have a store envy shop and store MD is just like Etsy but in my opinion I don’t know I just like it better just because they charge less and it doesn’t cost money to set up a shop I don’t know everything about Etsy so if I say something wrong in this video about Etsy Etsy then I’m sorry abut I’ve never created an Etsy store before but strongly is a little cheaper I know that basically I just post few things that I have for sale on there so all of my bows and duct tape wallets and stuff like that and then I told store MV my paypal email and then when people pay me the money just go straight into my PayPal and then I can transfer it to my bank account later my friend Diana asks how do you manage school and business and this is a really good question it can be really difficult but I just managed my time wisely I’m a super organized person so um sometimes I will write out all the orders by do get emails every time somebody orders from my strong be shops so I just go back to the email and see what they ordered and stuff so it’s kind of organized that way and also if I sign in to my strong V account all of like whatever orders I have they’ll just show up so that’s kind of how I stay organized um I have calendars and whiteboards and I will just write down everything I have to do but during the school week I can get really busy because I do get a lot of homework so homework is my top priority during the school week but on weekends that is when I focus on my business and on YouTube so I like to make crafts during the weekends and post them for sale and I ship packages during the weekends as well I love the asks I like your name by the way what item fell the most on your shop love you so much and keep up the good work thank you I love you too and I sell fabric hair bows the most on my shop and if you wanted to know which hair bows still the most definitely Starbucks tella any of those types of bows also sells some floral bows and some solid colors I’ve sold a lot of mint and also lace bows especially black lace and also a good thing about store MV and Etsy is that they don’t charge you to make your own store any shop so it’s not going to say like Alyssa’s crafts com that’s not my website it’s Alyssa’s craft store MV comm I think you have to pay extra if you don’t want the dot store MV on your website URL store on V it just takes out a small percentage of whatever you make and then simply goes into your PayPal account then PayPal also takes out a small percentage but it’s not that much at all like I wouldn’t worry about it it’s seriously not that much the crafty creator asks how do people find your store you can add tags to your items so for example if I post a pink hair bow on my straw B shop I can put pink comma hair comma buh comma girls comma X destry’s something like that so each word is a different tag and then people can search that and then they can find your shop I’ve made a few sales just through people searching through the store MB marketplace so that’s really cool because people search specific things and I guess since I put tags on my items they popped up and then that’s how I got a few sales so make sure to put tags on your items because people will be searching keywords in on Google or on the store on the website itself and also when you’re making your website URL make sure that it’s something that people are going to remember I feel like it’s easy for people to remember Alyssa’s crafts so that’s why I chose that name for my strong be shop brittany asks how do you afford the supplies if you are saving for a larger purchase of something else that is a great great question I mean almost that idea as you guys know if you watched my video yesterday I bought a MacBook Pro and it was hard to save up for I’m not going I could not go shopping I mean I did have to buy some supplies for my business if you’re making crafts crafts stores have sales all the time and especially at Joanns I get most of my fabric from there and they have steals all the time on their fabric if you download the Michaels or Joanne’s or Hobby Lobby apps they always have coupons on there so you can just have them scan your phone and I usually do that and I get great sales if you work really hard and you just tell yourself ok I’m going to say about this much money this month then if you keep doing that then you’ll be able to afford a bigger item but just be determined and don’t go to the mall I’m not sure how to pronounce your name so I’m really sorry I think it’s Delia but she asks how do you create an online store I love you I love you too and there are tons of tutorials on how to create like a stormy shop or an Etsy shop on YouTube I believe and if you go on their website there’s tons of tips and it shows you how to create one exactly so I’m not gonna show you guys how to do that in this video because this video is probably already going to be long enough it’s self explanatory once you create one because you just have to sign up and then you just go on their website all hub Etsy in store on via and PayPal I’ll link to below so make sure to just check the description box after this video this is a really great question and it is from undead corpse how do you get the motivation to keep selling and keep up with the site or business especially if you don’t sell much actually I did not start selling really well until like four months ago like I’ve made good sales since then but before then I wasn’t getting a ton of sales and I know it can be really discouraging but I would just try to put yourself out there as much as possible like it get social media sites tell everyone you know that you have a shop and just tell them the website and then hopefully go on there hopefully buy from you you have people your business cards and stuff like that and by the way I made my business cards on vistaprint.com people ask me that all the time I’ll have their links below and they’re free if you get 250 business cards and then you just have to pay for shipping so shopping was like five bucks so I got 250 business cards for $5.00 including shipping so that was good hopefully I answered your question I’m sorry if you’re not making that many sales it can be really discouraging this is also a great question you guys literally ask the best questions so this is from get crafty girl and she asks how do you deal with time wasters /root customers and your awesome keep up the great job thank you so much I haven’t really dealt with rude customers there’s people that I’ll just get hate on my videos sometimes and people say oh wow this sucks that sucks you suck like that’s just weird obviously they’re not your customers because they’re not they’re just giving you criticism but if you have rude customers and they’re kind of like being sketchy about whether or not they’re going to order then that’s just kind of weird I would just not trying to sound rude but I would just stop talking to them like ignore them or block them on like if they’re being super rude you should block them like you don’t have time to deal with that I have had time wasters in the past for just people that are just wasting my time they don’t end up ordering they ask like a bajillion questions they try to get tons of promotions I mean tons of sales when the items are already on sale and there’s just people that aren’t going to understand your prices you could always ask them so have you had parents permission before ordering for me because there’s lots of people my age and younger that order from me and sometimes people don’t get parents permission and then they ask their parents and then they’re like okay I can’t order now when you just spent like an hour talking to them pneumatic 101 says I was having trouble with sales tax I don’t charge sales tax on my items you can if you want but that’s totally up to you I live in California and sales tax here is 8.5% I believe which is kind of high in my opinion but I don’t charge sales tax Healy says it’s not safe to use your home address and what if your parents don’t want you to use API box to what do you do then so before I had a QA box I just wrote my home address on my packages that I was shipping to people and I know that can seem kind of dangerous but I’ve never had a problem with it and now I don’t write my address on there I just write makyo box address and I really don’t know what to tell you if your parents aren’t letting you get a qo box and they don’t want you to write your home address because I just used to use my home address like I said Hugh boxes don’t cost that much so you might want to look into that at the post office they’re only about like thirty one dollars for six months and I think that’s a great deal so one of the other most asked questions is how much should you price shipping so it really depends where you live and if you want to do international shipping International shipping is extremely expensive so I don’t do international shipping and that is why I went to the post office one day and I was like so how much does it cost to ship outside the US it cost $25 I am not exaggerating I asked them and that’s how much flat rate International shipping is I charge $3 I think that’s a good price and I would also recommend getting tracking numbers tracking numbers just ensures that the package gets to the person that ordered from you and you obviously don’t want your package to get lost in the mail and you don’t want drama between customers so that’s not good you definitely want to get a tracking number if you can you can just um add it to the total price for shipping so you can say okay shipping is three or four dollars I probably wouldn’t go over four dollars you can do a flat rate shipping I just say okay shipping is three dollars flat rate which means however many items a person orders shipping just stays three dollars I just like to make it inexpensive for you guys because I know things cost a lot and I just think that’s a good price for shipping a lot of people also asked how do you know how much to price your stuff at it really just depends I charge a certain amount for my things based on how much time it takes me to make that item and how much these supplies are that I have to put into making that item if that makes sense so I hope you guys enjoyed this
