alright what's up guys Josh Locke here from the guy to make money online and this today and this next week I'm gonna be doing a series called marketing 101 to teach you everything you need to know about marketing and some easy tips and tricks that you can implement into your affiliate or e-commerce websites because there's no point to know how to make money online if you don't know how to market yourself and so this next series is gonna be all about that it's gonna be coming at you next week and of course today so if you all are new here this channel is called the guide to make money online as in the name I teach you how to make money online whether you want to make a full-time income or just some money on the side so please subscribe I post videos every day and I would love to have you along for the ride so let's get started alright so episode one of marketing 101 I'm going to talk about a/b testing or split testing you call it either once essentially the same thing if you ever heard of it it's where you take two variations or two or more variations and implement them into the same campaign to see which one converts better and I'll explain that a little bit better but I'm going to talk about why it works and why you should do it for your marketing campaigns or for your websites so businesses grow through adapting and innovation and the way to do this is to a/b split test because you may learn from someone like oh this is the correct way to do something and you put it into action beaten may not see conversions and that's because every business and every customer base is different and you need to tailor your business to your specific customer base and the way to do this is to a/b split test and so you can send off multiple variations of the same thing in this case I have an ad pulled up I'll talk about this in a second but whether you want to do ad ad split testing website landing page anything you need to tailor it specifically for your customers so it converts better and a/b split testing is a way to let your customers determine how your website looks which will in turn convert better over time alright so again this helps optimize your stuff and so it converts better and when you know how to optimize and makes it a lot easier and so this is a good way to know how to optimize your stuff alright in the show that I have two ads pulled up and these are both ad Edwards ad that I pulled off the internet from or for Shopify free trial and if y'all use Google AdWords to create your campaigns or any other like Facebook ads stuff like that whenever you create the ads there's an option to create a second ad or a third even a fourth one and what this does is this does a B split test and it sends off random ones and you can see which ones convert better so you can really pinpoint which one works so I've got these two right here I've got one that says Shopify start your free trial 14-day free trial so it gets right to the point the website says Shopify com and then of course the description free trial for 14 days get started today excuse me and the second one is kind of wordy Shopify com official try 14-day free trial google.com sites Google Bob Loblaw so it's a lot more wordier so so in this case you would be sending these two ads off to see which one converts better to see if this one catches their eye or this one so in this case the person was probably like hmmm I wonder whether a lengthy campaign will catch their eye or a short concise one so they sent these two off most likely I'm just gonna figure till these figuratively spit some numbers out let's say this one converts 50% better than this one so what they can do from there is just get rid of this one and take this one and then maybe optimize it a second time so let's say you've got two ads now but instead of instead of Shopify start your free trial it just said Shopify so it's gonna be very crude so I'm just doing this like as I go so now that I've got two more ads and this one already converted better so that let the mm-man a really horse sorry do videos every day so it takes a toll on my voice so they got this and then they're like hmmm I wonder what will happen if you take out the start your free trial and so it just says shop free trial 14 days and so let's say this one converts better and so now they're like okay now we have an ad that converts really well and we can put a lot of more money into it because when they did the first two split as they probably put less money in and then now that they have something that they know converts really well because their customers chose it they can put more money into it and expect more conversions so that's how it's beneficial for Google Adwords I'll talk about a landing page in a second but essentially all of this is in order to convert better so send off some cheap a be test see which one converts better and then once it does put more money into the one that works better and so you'll get more bang for your buck so sorry I'm using Shopify a lot does it's a common theme in my videos so let's say you have a landing page and you're like man I really like this but one of my customers liked it so I've got my logo I've got my Shopify 14-day free trial header and then a short description and then a yellow sign up with the copywriting in the bottom but I'm like hmm I wonder if it will convert better if I take out the description and just have Shopify and the header and so what I can do is do a a B split test of this ad and then just the one with the header and the logo and then let's say let's say this one right here converts better I can just ditch the other one say okay I'll put more money into this ad because I know what converts better so it's all about learning to adapt to your audience and this is very important a lot of people skip over it because they think like oh I don't need that I'll just do one AD and also it is like quite an investment because you do send off ads knowing that one's gonna fail over the other but you have to realize that the money you put into the initial forefront of creating the a/b split test will create an ad that converts better which will make you more money in the side so you have to be okay with investing money in the forefront which I mean is the case for anything but maybe testing is so important for creating lasting long-term income I mean you can't really make it too far on one ad you have to always be adapting because the customer's always adapting and they always want new things and so this is a way to for the customers to determine how it looks which in turn converts better essentially puts data to action which can never go wrong so I'm not gonna say that it it can go wrong sometimes but going off data is way more beneficial than going off hypothesis and just ideas and so hard data hard facts converts better in the long run and so if you're wanting to do this if you think what could be a good option for you at the point at the time which I recommend that would be what you can do is on Google Adwords I'll have it pulled up but if you've used it before you know the page where you create the ads you can just create a second one it's easy as that it's right there so you can't miss it and then if you wanna do a landing page – through WordPress the the app or plugin that i use for landing pages actually allows you to a be split test and this rolls over to everything I just used ads and landing pages an example but you can do it for web sites you can do it for magazines you can do it for of course any type of ad just I wanted to lay the concept out there for of course my marketing 101 series because I feel like AP testing is really important for adapting to the new market because the markets always changing so if you can learn to a be split test you will be one step ahead of the competition because you'll you'll constantly be learning constantly be adapting the audience and just having more successful business overall so of course you have any questions just hit me up with the comments I'll be sure to answer those possibly make a video if it's that big of a question but
